Wrap Armour anti glare hood stamp long term care

I just bought a 2019 TRDOR that has a Wrap Armour anti glair hood stamp and am wondering what I need to do to keep it in the best shape possible. Should I just wax (right now finishing up a bottle of Chem Guys Butter Wax) it like the rest of the truck or are there other specific wrap product(s) I need to use on it? After my Butter Wax runs out I am probably going to switch to a hybrid ceramic, but I am not set on using one product over another; I just know if Amazon delivers one more car cleaning product to this house I am going to be in trouble ( I went down the Wilson Auto Detailing, Pan the Organizer, and Dallas Paint Correction rabbit hole over the last year. It has been expensive and I had to hide my new Jax Wax Wheel Cleaner this afternoon!)

So I found this in google. I actually have been avoiding hood vinyl since in the past, you usually get 5-7 years out of it before it needs to be replaced.

The spray sealants are ok but may require more frequent application. Actual coatings or even trim specific coatings would be even better. Those will even darken or somewhat restore black trim if it's already faded. Something like this would be inexpensive and you'll also be able to use it on all the rest of the black trim on the truck.

Or get one of the detailing brands trim coating like Carpro DLUX with that you'll be able to do the plastic trim, metal, head/tail lights and is high heat durable so you can coat wheels and even exhaust.

 

@suaveflooder , I have been debaiting on actually having it removed for the reason of its lifetime, but if I can get solid information about best practice I will keep it. I did not put it on the truck; it came that way and I am on the fence about it.

 

@gorram, THAT is one of the products that I had to hide today too!!! Was planning on using it on all the factory exterior black trim but didn't know if I could use it on vinyl.

 

yeah, my friend had a Roush mustang and it had vinyl stripes. He literally replaced them professionally every 5 years. But to be fair, he lived in Arizona so they saw some HOT days

I want to put the pro vinyl on my hood, but I really want to see how it holds up over time. I see the vinyl between the windows on some cars and it’s cracked and peeling and just looks horrible.

I’m probably going to pull the vinyl between the windows off if i get a free weekend

 

Just assuming vinyl falls under "plastic" trim. But something like faded black trim may restore better than the vinyl, you'll have to test. I'd go with CarPro DLUX though more so for the OEM trim that's not cheap to replace and starts to fade quickly if exposed to too much sun. Plus it will work great on the wheels. If you only put one coat on the wheels you should have enough to do about 2 trucks worth.
