Very Embarrassing/Stupid/Silly Mistake- Touch-up Paint Needed

I know I might wind up roasted alive for this because it is very embarrassing and pathetic. However, since I've already beaten myself up enough over the matter please have pity on me, spare me the scolding, and help me find some touch-up paint...

I just brought the truck home, a 2011 Tacoma, and I've been so careful at every little stop, getting in, and getting out, to make sure my boots don't go anywhere except on the paper they have over the floor-mat, I've made sure to make all of my turns with enough space, and I even folded my mirrors in before pulling into the garage because it was going to be a tight fit.

I've never had a speeding ticket, I've never had a parking ticket, my record is clean, I'm a safe driver, very careful, the whole nine yards...

This is where it gets very embarrassing...

I was on the computer talking to a friend when I had a problem with my left contact, it came out, I went upstairs to the bathroom and tried to put it back in about a half-dozen times but it wouldn't cooperate, so I decided "the heck with this, I'm switching to my glasses for the rest of the night" and it occurred to me that the glasses were in the truck...

I went out to the garage, ever so careful not to the hit the door of the car parked next to me, thinking, "don't hit the car, don't hit the car, don't hit the car..." Well I didn't hit the car, but I did sort of slip as I was getting into the truck, and the steel sights on my pistol (which I always wear, particularly when at home) sort of came into contact with the rear door of the truck, leaving a very small/minute white chip, but if you get down and look it is very noticeable.

It is beyond embarrassing, I can't believe it happened to me, I can scarcely imagine how it happened... I've never caused an accident, the worst I've done was nailing a guy's mailbox in the dead of winter when I was sixteen, and it wasn't particularly terrible since his own neighbor had nailed it the week before (it was on a sharp curve) and I did replace the mailbox, which was new since his neighbor had just replaced the darn thing about two days prior to my hitting it.

I'm going to beat myself up about this for at least another day or so, I just don't know how it happened, I guess it was a case of my being so concerned about one thing that I didn't pay proper attention to another thing. I was so worried I might bump my dad's car that I wasn't focused on the fact that I might bump the truck, with myself. This sort of thing isn't supposed to happen to me since I've always been so ridiculously careful... I've been ridiculously careful to the point that my 2003 Camry was worth approximately $11,300 because it was rated as being in excellent condition, which it was, without a dent on it, with only a few chips from other motorists kicking up stones, and not a spot of rust anywhere on it.

I don't know how this darn gun thing could have happened... I'm going to have to switch to an IWB holster or go back to a shoulder rig... It might just be time to switch to a pocket pistol when around the house.


Bottom-line- I need touch-up paint in Timberland Mica for a 2011 Tacoma.

Please advise me on where I can purchase/obtain the best quality touch-up paint.

haha wow that was long i just went down and saw that u needed some paint!
go to the dealer u can buy a little bottle of factory matched paint. goodluck!

better then my excuse. I forgot my stand at home so i rested the handle bars on the bedside lol.

quicker way is to go t napa and have them make you a color match rattle can version within a couple of hours tops. might be a bit over kill for a chip though.

 

The best part is that there was a bee's nest in the mailbox and smashing into the mailbox scattered dozens of bees all over the guy's yard. It had to be about five or ten degrees (at most) out that day and the bees died almost instantly.

In addition to being the best part that's also the craziest part, since the mailbox had just been replaced a few days prior to that and the weather was roughly the same then! It begs the question, how did the bees build that nest?

If they were there when the first mailbox was taken out they should have been killed, and they shouldn't have been active that week so how would they have built the nest after the first box was taken out and was replaced with the second box, should they?

I don't know what was up with that, all I know is that I killed several dozen bees that day, although maybe they were yellow-jackets (hard to say, I don't exactly recall)... Had they remained their until spring/summer they doubtlessly would have brutalized the first poor sap that went to retrieve the mail on some sunny spring day.

 

Maybe it is, but it is really bothering me because it shouldn't have happened.

 

Loosen up and live life hah it's just one scratch ! But call dealer or there is a place on eBay that sells cans or touch up pens you can buy.

 

STAY AWAY FROM EBAY! You never know what you will get. Other than you know, for some reason, when you open the box it will smell like stale cigarettes, for some reason.

If you type "touch" into google, before you can even get "up" typed you will see 2 hits. Automotivetouchup and paintscratch. If you go anywhere else, it better be to your local paint shop.
Not saying there aren't others out there, but duplicolor can not be trusted, its not horrible, but it can't hold a candle to the mix per can guys. WHy go anywhere else? The dealer also sells paint.
I am unsure if its branded or "toyota" backed, but they always have something.

But I have found my Glock tends to love tap my rear door of my DC as I get in and out of my Taco. Fortunately it is in my IWB or covered by a jacket in my OWB so all I hear is a light tap with no actual damage (since it is shielded by the clothing). I don't doubt one day my clothing will shift in the perfect way to allow my gun to properly hit my door. Until then

 

Well the 6T8 Toyota touch-up paint worked just fine. I can still tell where the problem is because I know, but a casual glance seems to be insufficient to notice the issue. My dad is of the belief that one more touch-up job will bring about satisfactory resolution.

funny story about scratches...My truck was really dirty one day and my friend was being a co*k and drawing rude images on my dusty paint. So hes standing on the drivers side of my hood and im on the passenger side. Hes drawing things in the dust and i chuck my keys at him. I have a carabiner with the truck key, a house key, and a masterlock key. I COMPLETLEY mess up the throw and hurl the caribiner with keys right into my hood and leave about 7 chips in my green paint. I felt like such an idiot...

 

But... why pack a gun at home? I am a retired cop and never pack even on town.
Once in a wile going on long trips, but never on our town. Just curious.
