I'm down for a beer sometime. I had never seen the lift you linked until I clicked it and watched parts of the install video to make sure I understood what it did and how it installed. I wasnt trying to knock it any, just the advertising. I read things very literally so the way things get worded can get me going. Better tires can make a huge difference. I replaced the stock GY kevlars at 6k miles and its easily one of the best improvement to the trucks capabilities. You can also go up in size with no lift if you go skinny. From what I've hear 255/85r16 doesnt rub and is right around the same height as the more common 285's just skinnier.

Mine lasted 1500 miles then I went to Cooper STT Pro’s. Great tire and still add plenty of tread on them when I sold the tires & wheels at 40k miles.

I forgot about skinnies. @TX Bat, you can use this tire calculator to see the size differences.

Thanks! I hope y'all have a happy 4th as well.

I think to make it a truly great Independece Day, I think you should add "make some BBQ" and "drink" needs to be on the list more than once......

I think that I am going to take my rare day off opportunity to put my lift on my truck, then catch up on the festivities!

I have seen some guys with pros say that they are running 285s without rubbing. I'm not sure if they are actually wheeling at all though.

I did see a couple admit that there was some rubbing. The pro offset probably helps a bit but I bet there would be some rub with some hard wheeling.

I have considered 255s. If I don't do anything with the suspension, I may go that route.

One of the rub concerns with 285's is the UCA's. It becomes the width of the tire that causes rubbing issues not the height.

Wow, did everyone drive out to CO for Independence Day weekend?

Regardless of the clouds, it looks pretty amazing!

I feel boring now, just working on my truck all day yesterday....

Nope, @Zac of all trades pic is a throw back I believe.(pretty sure its the same one I've seen from a past trip, he has different wheels/tires on the truck now)
Its not very difficult. I need to go back and get the view from a clear day. The 1 time I've been it was over cast like the pics posted.:(

Who all is planning on attending the meet? A rough headcount would be nice for planning purposes.
