I picked up a set of seats out of a Subaru Forester. Driver seat is power and both have heat.
I modified the passenger side so that it would fold forward and cut off the brackets.
Then I cut off the brackets on the driver's seat and welded on a set of brackets from an extra set of seat rails I had.
Everything welded up perfectly, until I went to install it and discovered the seat rails were from a 4 Runner.
Oh, I did manage to rotate my tires.

Don't recommend it..my truck had dual Flex A Lite e-fans installed when I bought it, they did a crap job keeping the engine cool when 4wheeling. Maybe they were a bad set, I dunno..but I would start to over heat climbing any kind of hill in 4lo.
Ditched them for a stock fan clutch setup a few years ago and never had a cooling issue since.

No, I was trying to put back in the same bolts that I removed from my original bed, and on the replacement, two of the welded nuts seem to have been wallowed or drilled out. I got a nut one the one closest to the cab, but gave up one the middle one, no way to get a nut in there without drilling out a hole in the floor of the bed and going down from the top.

Electric fans will never match the sheer CFM a mechanical clutch fan can push.

Yeah, they might be ok for a street rig but I know @FLBAdrian wheels his truck and I'd hate to see him go through what I did with mine

This is generally frowned upon because it makes the system less reliable and less cooling ability.

Its like 6 10mm bolts and you get rid of the sheet metal that makes up the factory compartments under the seat

This is good to know! I’ve been considering this mod. Does anyone know if there are upgraded fans/fans from a different vehicle that might move more air at a lower RPM that also fit inside the fan shroud?

finally making some progress on my rust repair not a ton of time to work on it between work & grad-school.

When I pulled the bed I had to torch off the two rear bolts to get it off, and another one of the bolts apparently snapped when they did the frame replacement I haven't had a chance to get that off yet.

I flipped the bed up to remove the two bolts then proceeded to knock the rust off the bottom so sprayed some rust converter on that & self etching primer on the back side of the patches I welded in while I have things apart.

I thought I was close to being ready to get painting but as I was messing around with things I found more rust I need to cut out and patch, glad I found it now instead of when I got things back together.
