Get a different truck. This is my second taco and I’ve never had so many problems as I’ve had with my 2017. If you want to PM me I’ll share with you a screen shot of my toyota care printout.
    8 warranty issues.

My 20 sport 4WD tech package has 12K and no issues whatsoever. Good luck bro- very odd. I’m sure Toyota gonna take care of you.

My 2019 SR5 screen has never gone out like that but I have had every warning light and message come on for no apparent reason. I had driven it about 5 minutes ran into the store, restarted the truck and the screen started showing warning messages. High transmission fluid temperature, check charging system, low engine oil, engine oil temperature and several others. I immediately turned the engine off waited about a minute and started it. No more warning messages and it ran fine. I've never experienced it again. That was about 6 weeks ago. It's been running fine ever sense. Scared the heck out of me at first. I did not take it in to the dealer because I know they would check the computer but if they can't get it to repeat they just blow you off. I'm just going to keep an eye on it for now.

I hope they fix it for you. I am watching to see how this goes down just to see how Toyota handles things. I've never had a new car. The Tacoma will be my first when I get it. My Jeep had some warranty left when I got it but only ever went back to the dealership for recalls. The warranty, what was left was up before anything on it broke during my watch.

I can confirm this. My Frontier had a rear axle/ locker issue. Took them 6 weeks to fix it. Had a high level person come out and follow all of the wires and check all connections. Replaced entire harnesses and still couldn’t find the issue. He finally got frustrated and had the dealer swap my rear axle with a different truck on the lot, and the problem was corrected. They ordered me a brand new axle and sent mine back to Japan for “disassembly and reverse engineering”

I had that exact screen a couple of weeks ago when I got into the truck to go get a coffee. The first thing that came to my mind was that my truck did receive an update the day before. The second thing was that it was probably the hottest day I’ve seen this year. Whatever, drove a mile and a half to WaWa, got my joe and when I got back in the truck, it was normal. Other than that, no issues whatsoever.

Vehicles are filled with computers today. There are not many people who can actually explain how a computer works and for those who can, not a lot of them can explain when it doesn’t work, hence, reboot.
