Got the wife’s Kubota RTV 1100 windows tinted today and tinted the windshield with a clear tint called Air Blue 80.
Anyone got their windshield tinted with this? How do you like it? Noticeable heat rejection? Issues at night?

I'd like to know more details. Around here it's against the law to tint windshields.

my friend did it with his M3. He liked the “fishbowl” look so did it all around. He said it felt just like he had regular tint on it. He never mentioned issues at night, but I never asked either

This is actually clear and legal in Florida.

I’m pretty sure this would be fine. It’s literally clear. At least my buddies was. Only way I knew he had it was because of the dot matrix part of the back window and how tint gates to stick to it

I've had 3M Spectral 70% on my windshield for years and you can't even tell it's there. The heat rejection is present but don't expect it to be amazing or anything.

I haven’t heard of air blue 80 but just had 3M crystalline installed last week and the heat rejection is amazing.

I’ve got 70% on the windshield so there’s still plenty of light coming through. Drove at night for the first time yesterday and didn’t feel any different than pre-tint.

I’m thinking of going down this route too. We put air blue over the factory “tint” in my parents Lexus, and the added heat rejection was substantial.

    this and that...
i usually go 35 on all my vehicles. i tried a 20 on this truck. maybe its cause im just used to driving with a tinted windshield, but i didnt notice a difference from the step down. as far as driving experience, if its under my control, ill never drive without it. the postives outweigh the negatives...to me. ymmv of course lol.

I have 3M Crystalline 70% on my windshield. It's completely unnoticeable, but not legal in my state. (Below AS1 line without supporting documentation.) The UV blocking is absolutely amazing.

The only issue is when you get a random rock to hit the windshield and it spiders within minutes. You're pretty much out of ~$350. Most insurance companies do not cover aftermarket tint unless you add it as an additional coverage line item, which means paying an additional fee on top your regular policy amount.

I also have 70% ceramic on my windshield, and 20% ceramic all around. The UV blocking is fantaastic in the summers, at least 10-20 degrees cooler when getting in at first, and i have yet to be pulled over and cited for it, even side tints (which Indiana is 30% legal limit)--

I also have 3M 70% ceramic on my windshield, 40% front, and 5% rear. There's a huge difference than my non-tinted, cloth (black) interior civic. My taco with synthetic leather seats, baking in 95 degree+ weather feels like how my civic does in 80 degree weather. My only "issue" is my wife has polarized sunglasses, and it looks like there's a rainbow d/t the scattering of light with the crystals -- but that's more of a personal issue for her. :anonymous:

    Lots, straight from the factory.
On my E63, I had it tinted with Huper Optik all around. I think it was 30% on normal glass and 80 or 85% on the windshield. The temp difference was very noticeable. Huper Optik is a nano ceramic that is designed for heat rejection. Best tint job I have ever had.

In Oregon it is only legal to tint the top 6 inches of the windshield, but I see plenty of Tacos with the entire thing tinted. State and local police don't seem to care that much around these parts. I considered having it done to mine because I am always in the sun during my commute.

So after having the wife’s Kubota windshield done she was so impressed she had the windshield of her CRV done. It is amazing how much cooler it is and I really can’t visually tell it’s there.
I think I’m gonna have the Tacoma done. That thing is dark (MGM) and hot. My sunglasses will take the skin off my ears after sitting a a parking lot all day.

3M ceramic worth every penny. I can see great night or day.

If you're referring to the black dots, they tinted around it and not over it.

I did a 35% all around and 50% windshield ceramic tint; I'm in MD for reference. It's a great balance and rejects heat pretty well, I love it; I did the same setup for my Mustang as well.
