It’s already all finished, practiced for like 30 minutes and went for it. The fitment on the drivers side double shear was complete crap and had all kinds of big gaps. Welds turned out pretty good where the fitment was good but I had a hard time trying to fill the huge gaps. Luckily the passenger side was a lot better

I had similar gaps when I put my double shear stuff on. Thankfully my welder is a wizard.

Dirt king everything, gusseted spindles and cam tabs were supplied through @glorifiedwelder.

The long UCA bolt slides in and out perfect on both sides though so thats all I'm worried about

Also got this shock tower brace installed that I got from @Sterling_vH111 Trimming around all the stuff in the engine bay was tedious!

Yeah I can't believe how big that gap is, I didn't even attempt to weld it lol I would've really butchered it.

I was specifically asking about the double shear kit but you answered the question. Lack of specifics on my end. I thought it made sense when I posted it.

I’ve put them on three trucks and they were all that way. Two of them I know had bent frames so I chalked it up to that. I used a 1/4” square key way stock to fill the gap. Worked well.

TC ones fit better than that. Idk how they can be so sloppy - I’d be salty if I paid $150 for something so off.

I paid around $80-90 I think for the DK ones but I suppose thats why, I was more pissed during the install than I am now. If anyone wants to critique my sub par welding go ahead, my third attempt ever at welding and the gaps are fucked so it only made it worse. I'd say the welds are decent considering the circumstances, gotta learn somehow

Did an at home alignment to get the toe in check, only about an 1/8 inch off front to back. First time doing anything alignment related

Eh they’re just gussets - if they’re aligned with the long bolt it’s fine. It’s lame how off those are, basically lack of thoroughness in checking on their part. Some day you might just want to cut off the parts that stick off to clean it up and maybe weld and grind those parts into place better. Just personal preference - function isn’t really too changed. Solid work

thanks man was thinking the same, might just be easier to cut them off! Don’t have regular access to a welder so for now I’ll leave it

Over the years I’ve seen a few folks mention here that it is a good idea to bed line the inside of your glass to protect against rock impacts. Has anyone DIY’d a product like Raptor liner on the inside of your glass fenders and bedsides ? If so any experiences with primers or adhesion promoters ? Raptor sells an adhesion promoter but it only comes in a rattle can which seems like it would take a lot of cans and a lot of time for good coverage on raw glass ?

I covered the whole inside and the lower parts of the outsides with raptor liner. I used Bulldog adhesion promoter and Raptor liner on my rear fenders and it came out great. 2 cans of the adhesion promoter is more than enough for just doing the rears. Think I used 2 bottles of the raptor liner.
