TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Question for you boys, when you installed your 650cc or higher rated injectors did you guys have to update your tune to compensate for the higher fuel flow capabilities of the new injectors?

 

No truck or car will not run right without a proper tune to the specific injectors.

I would start with a wiring diagram and check if there is a common link between all of it. Like a bad fuse or a rodent chewed on a wire while parked at your buddies. Start on the power supply side. Possibly a relay went bad.

@mightytacoman it sounds like everything is trying to ground through the brake light switch when braking.

 

Wish I could further diagnose it. Started it this morning and no problems.. Hard to find a problem that isn't currently presenting

 

No shit. I would still look into a relay that powers all of those systems. Relays can be intermittent.

 

How is your charging system holding up. The amount of things that it affects is insane. New battery? Alternator condition?

 

New northstar battery. Less than a year old. I monitor voltage when datalogging. All seems normal. With truck off for a day, normal sitting voltage of the battery is perfect at mid 12s. I give up

 

Oh god. Yeah, you could have a relay issue or fuse box issue. You would have to wait til it happens again. I can't stand intermittent problems.

getting PNs and stuff for this round of maint. But the SCer does need alot of love.

 

I’m looking at them. Yeah. Seems to be the only game in town if you want equal length. I do plan to run cats. So, I’m looking at a Magnaflow cat that will be made to be an easily swapable “intermediate” pipe between the header and Y-pipe. I will make an additional pair of them with just resonators for, um, track days.

Waiting for a response from Magnaflow for additional info currently.

The Vibrant cats that a few guys are running seem to be unobtanium nowadays.

The other player would be the AFE header/y-pipe combo that they sell. Which, is essentially what I’m running currently but with larger tubing diameters.

it will be plenty close for install. You have the data sheet that gives you all the numbers to change
