Installing the drivers is my question. I watched the video on ovtune page, maybe I didnt understand. I install the drivers AFTER I receive the reg key? Because I dont recall the drivers being mentioned in the first 2 steps I did today

Not looking to install on a new computer and def not trying to overcomplicate. It complicated enough. I just want to be sure I'm up to date and not have issues when its install time because a driver was left out. But if it isnt time to install them yet, I'm good.

You can install the drivers whenever. It’s up in the top menu bar “install software”

This installation took place back in January. Yes, it was finally completed. I installed 1.05 . Since then, as best I can tell from reading here and there, the installation method and the program and devises needed to install the next update (2.0 which has been a huge topic of arguement here) has changed. I won't be attempting it. The entire experience wasn't worth the cost. This is my opinion only.

Almost none of that is true. For the current Full but not final 2.0 release, you can download the Flash Kit P5F files from the OVT homepage (at the bottom). The only missing pieces are the Perf and Tow tunes, tune switching, and Gear Lock options.

You flash these with an updated version of Flash Manager. Uninstall the existing one, install this new one, and reinstall your REG file:
    https://www.ovtuned.com/blogs/news/ovtune-tacoma-flash-manager-overhaul

With that you are on 2.0.

You only need to go to vF if your ECU ID changes. All the hardware is still the same, just something different in place of FM.

I wish we were neighbors...I'd pitch in a six pack to have you do it for me.
I've given up trying to understand the constant on going of that "tune page".
I mention the programming and devises have changed, and you say that's mostly untrue.
Then you list all the changes I would have to re-download and reinstall...lol. how is that untrue?
I have no doubt its my inability to understand computer programs that has me at a disadvantage and thus unwilling to take this any further.

There’s likely someone nearby that would be willing to help out. I just can’t remember their names off hand.

If you’ve already installed 1.05, you just need to download the 2.0 file and flash it. You don’t have to do anything different. The vf stuff is for people who want to create / customize their own tunes.

If anyone knows anyone on the western slope of Colorado, and that person is extremely proficient with this tuning, i would make it worth their time and come to them for help.

Been their done that. Not to mention that 2.0 truly isn't even final yet. So, no sense in even looking at the moment

I would strongly recommend getting on the 2.0 ‘final’ or one of the betas ASAP. Some 2019’s have the dreaded ‘brake override malfunction’ on the 1.05 tunes. Trust me, you don’t want that. Terrifying limp mode can be dangerous. Search for it.

I'm vaguely familiar. This affected the 6m as well?

Just installed 2.0F. It is worth the effort to install it. Trust me.

When you say devices, I think hardware.

I would like to help you out and would enjoy a road trip. But . . .

If you're an MT, it is even easier. 2.0 is Final for the MTs and all the available tunes are in FM once you uninstall the existing version and install the new one from the link in my post.

    You got this.

By decice, I'm referring the the little orange OBD2 plastic plug in that came with my tune.

So 2.0 is final for the 2019 MT?

What would be the exact sequence of events? I uninstall my current FM first? They reinstall new version? I need no new key or registration?

No new key or registration. I am sorta in between you and tone.....I can't remember, yes pretty sure I uninstalled. But new version is just as bone easy. Just follow the steps. 2.0 in MT is 1000% worth it IMHO.

Yessir. The orange OVT Tactrix adapter is still the only device that you need as long as you never had the extra security dongle.

You have the steps correct. Uninstall the existing FM software. Install the new one from my link. When you are done, reinstall the REG file that OVT sent you.

From there, the 2.0 Full and Final versions are in Flash Manager.

OVT may find some new features as time goes on, but 2.0 is done for MTs.

I don't know about "extremely proficient", but I've been able to figure things out whenever I run into a problem with any of the OVTune or anti-virus software. I live in NW Colorado and have to head to GJ from time to time, but I have a lot of plans the next few weeks. If you're still running into problems in a month or so, I'd be happy to make the effort to help you out.

Or if you're willing to drive to Meeker, then maybe in 2 or 3 weeks we could set something up.
