Well, after searching for the right truck since December, I finally bought this guy. A 2020 TRD OR with 111800 miles in timberland mica. I already took off the bull bar and plan to sell it to someone who might actually use it. Next big task is getting the cigarette smell out from previous owner.

Stealership wouldn't move much on price, but did get them to do quite a bit of service (new brakes, all new fluids and filters, ac refresh, ozone treatment for smell, headlight restoration, etc), so I'm not super disappointed. I know if the truck wasn't in such high demand they would've been forced to move on price more. Market is pretty thin here, though, so they don't stay for sale long.

Thanks to everyone for your advice and support as I searched! Looking forward to some future projects on this guy.

Not sure. Money is a bit thin at the moment after purchase, but I think initially I'll focus on things to improve longevity like descaling, painting and fluid filming the frame. So not really a mod, but for someone with zero car maintenance and modification experience, a good start. I want to have this truck a long time, so maintenance for durability and reliability are highest priority.

When l read your write up, l saw 2020 with 111,800 miles!! I was wondering how anyone would put that kind of mileage on it in just one year. But then l reread the title and saw the pictures.

    Silly me.

    Looks great and Congratulations!!!!

Congrats on the purchase. I had a similar experience when shopping for a truck about six months ago. Anything I found that was in good shape, low miles, and even somewhat of a decent price was usually gone within days. I found a used 2018 at a Ford dealership near me and they would NOT budge on the price despite the fact that it had been on their lot for about 90 days. They were willing to discount a brand new Ranger with offroad package to about $27k but they wouldn't let the 2 year old Tacoma drop below $30k. Oh well!

You gonna try burning toast? Great looking truck. That FreshWave Oder absorbent works pretty well controlling my stanky dog smell in my truck.

Sure! I paid 17000 before tax and fees (7% and $199, respectively). It came with a roll out, lockable bed cover and the bull bar as the only real large, aftermarket add-ons. It also has some big rubber floor mats (but came with unused, original black trd mats, too) and clear tail lights. If you believe Kelley Blue Book, I got a great deal in this market. It was saying 18500 was fair ask before taxes and fees and that typical listing price was more like 19k.

My wife would've preferred I get a cheaper truck, but I plan on keeping this thing a long time, so I don't feel too bad about it.

Been researching a few options... Probably go with something else before I try the burnt toast trick.

They ozone'd it at the be dealership which helped, but didn't knock it out entirely. Looks like those little fumigator bomb things get fairly good reviews (but some people say the actual scents in them are garbage).

Honestly just leaving it in the garage with the windows down for the last few days has helped a lot, but I don't think it'll kill it entirely.
