I thought about that as well. Infact I have a 1/4" spacer that I never installed for whatever reason. Hopefully you can find them on RockAuto, I checked a couple days ago and it looked like they were out......

WOOOOO! Looks like you got the last ones! Congrats! FWIW, this is with 4/3 and no rear lift for now. I just wanted to get them installed!! I'm not really driving around like this as I am not getting an alignment till I settle on front height after the rear suspension is installed. So it has a bit of cali-lean/saggy ass/carolina squat/doody in the pants look right now which I don't care for. haha

They are FN Wheels Six Shooter (discontinued 17x9 size, now 17x8) I got used locally, got a set of 5 for $550 with new goodyear kevlar tires that I sold since I swapped my Duratracs on these so a set of 5 ended up costing $150!! haha They were black when I got them, but I don't care for black wheels....not enough "pop" for me, kinda blah and all the bro-dozers around me have black wheels. I saw a thread for Pyrite Mica color and there were a couple with Gold/bronze wheels and knew I had to have it! So this is actually plasti-dip Bronze-Gold from Dip Your Car. First time I have actually done dip the right way and prepped correctly, the finish turned out great and haven't had any issues for about a year now.

I'll be starting a build thread in a couple weeks to show some of this stuff. Name is going to be TightWad-Taco. lol

 

Wanting to get opinions on my lift setup I'm planning on running.
Front: 6112's set at 4 on both sides(maybe 5) with a spacer for the driver(don't like the idea of more preload on 1 shock) + SPC upper control arm
Rear: Icon RXT leaf pack + Fox 2.0 performance shocks w/ remote reservoirs + wheeler u bolt flip kit w/timbren bump.

 

Well, Bilstein designed it that way. I've emailed them, and they advise against a spacer on top of a 6112. Your truck, but you would be going against the recommendation of Bilstein.

 

I agree with the spacer idea. I have read some reports of spring binding issues when at the max clip setting. Thats why I am avoiding it if possible as well. If it doesn't sit the way I want it to I may get a 1/2" spacer for the LF and install the 1/4" spacer on the RF and run 4/4 for clip settings.

Sorry I can't help with the Fox 2.0 though. Although post #3757 does mention how he believes the 5160 does not keep up with the 6112 and he installed the 8100 series....but that is a whole different level! haha

 

That is a really good deal! I also have FN wheels and plans to install the Bilstein 5160 and 6112 next Sunday can’t wait. As far as your truck goes I might be a little biased, pretty sure I saw your post in that thread a while back.

 

I really like those wheels as well! Looks like we have similar taste! haha I contacted FN for the color code....But as you can expect, that is confidential info. lol I was hoping for a little bit more of a bronze color like yours, but it'll do! If I redo them I will likely strip the wheels and do Cera-Kote. I like the topper too! I would love one if I didn't haul my dirt bike in there occasionally.

 

Dustin at FN wheels has been awesome to work with. I personally think your wheel color looks good, it’s close enough. The truck would look good with a topper for sure! Took me a year and a half to find this one used, they are so expensive new.

 

Oh yeah, dustin was great and very polite. I totally understand his reasoning for not giving the paint code. I was also looking for center caps but they aren't available for mine anymore due to some changes when they discontinued the 17x9. I used some black caliper paint on the hubs and now I actually think I prefer not having hub caps.

 

That’s funny man, when I had my access cab prerunner I had the FN 6 shooters and I contacted them about different options for center caps, but just ended up rocking the ones that came with them. This was my switch from prerunner to 4wd photo. Just had the Bilstein 5100 on it to level the front

 

Sorry to bother you again, John. Just wanted to get your input on the all pro expedition kit. I actually got a great deal on an icon stage 4 last week but am seriously debating canceling that order and building a kit through wheeler's which would include the all pro leaf kit. If I am only planning on adding a rtt in the future as far as load goes, I should be fine with the standard kit right? Only thing I normally have is a 50 lb tonneau, not hauling anything either. Thanks for any help

 

It does ride really well. I got the Trail Pro kit from Wheelers installed this week with the Expedition springs, 700lb springs on the 6112, and 5160s on the rear. From all the other posts about the 700lb spring being too stiff, I was expecting a nasty ride until I threw my bumper on. But I was pleasantly surprised on how the truck rides and I don't have any weight besides a tonneau G2.

 

Nice. Ok I'm likely going to do the same with king 700 coils w/6112 & 5160 and all pro standard leaf. I plan on getting a slimline bumper so figured I'd go with the 700 coils already

 

I'm looking at the all pro standard leaf pack over the icons due to price. I dont need the expo's because i dont carry much weight. Would you recommend the all pro leaf packs?

 

I’m not an expert, most of my info is gleaned off of here. In my short time w the lift it’s been good w @ 200lbs constant. How much is your RT and rack? Those weights can very quite a bit. Even the regular leafs will be an upgrade over stock

It’s my understanding the expo leafs also give a bit more lift. If u wanna avoid UCA’s then go w something other than the all-pro’s cause the kits recommend the highest setting on the front shocks

 

I was actually going for as light a rtt as possible. I don't have a rack but instead was planning on getting a set of crossbars and putting the tent on there. I do not have extra weight ever, really. Ok thanks for that, I actually was planning on having the 6112's at the highest setting and going with some spc uca's
