What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Mixed gas isn’t horrible, but it’s one extra thing to carry and think about. Lately I’ve been carrying a 1 gallon jug of gas and a bottle of 2 cycle oil. I only mix the the 2 cycle oil if I have to use the saw, otherwise the one gallon gets put in the taco at the end of the trip. I don’t seem to use it enough to justify keeping gas mixed, but often enough to justify having the saw. I’d love to be able to get rid of that 1 gallon jug and 2 cycle oil. My pickup is getting put on a diet when I get home from work, anyways.

Wood heat warms you several times. Cutting the trees, and blocking it out, loading, unloading, splitting/stacking, carrying into the house, and finally when you burn it!!

Found plugs from a 2020 highlander to cover the holes the useless stickers covered on the rockers.

We remove them to install the factory hitch. I have to find the part number for the other taco

 

Did they reduce wind noise?

 

Not that I know of. They just plug the holes better than the sticker like things Toyota used originally that fall off

 

Changed old shifter bushings! It used to shake like a maraca at highway speeds and annoy me to death. Now it’s quiet and stays in place!

 

Is the ride stiff/harsh without weight in the back?

 

I have J59 with bilstein 5125s and the ride is stiff without some weight for sure, but nothing crazy to make you not want to get them

Pretty much like Godzilla619 said. Firm but not rough. Rides the way a truck is suppose to in my opinion. I have 5125s as well. I have a toolbox with maybe 200lbs in the bed.

 

I fill mine the same way.

 

I fill mine from a shrader valve in my bumper and an on board air compressor.
But you can put a manual switch inside or an auto setup with an air compressor.
