Hey, just a a warning to anyone that has bought the 3D printed mounts for this radio. Be careful if you trick sits outside in the heat.

Over the last couple months I keep noticing my radio was sinking in for some reason. When I initially installed my radio with the 3D mounts it was perfectly flush to the bezel, I even added a couple washer to make it completely flush. So after a couple months ago when I noticed the radio was not flush anymore I thought it was kinda weird but ended up just adding a couple more washer to fix it and went about my day.

Well today I noticed it was sunken in even more, so I pulled the radio out and noticed the mounts where warped. And I got the option for the most material when buying the mounts, and yes my trick does sit outside.

So if your truck sits outside in the heat, dont bother with these, it was a waste of $60.

Edit: sorry for any grammatical errors I'm on mobile

Damn. I wouldn’t be surprised if those plastic ones from crutchfield do the same. They were pretty thin. metal oem brackets work fine without any modification.

My truck sits outside all day. Haven't had an issue. Wonder if the infill and what-not have something to do with it. After breaking my first set, I needed mine up.

My LC2i just randomly shit the bed. Right speaker inputs quit working. I can run the right side wires to the left side and it runs, but when hooked up properly, only the faintest sound out of the speakers and the right side input alone (with either left or right side wire running to it) won't power it on.

    Pretty pissed about it.

Anywho. Don't feel like spending much, but was going to get an aftermarket head unit and just run RCAs to the amps.

I see lots of fans of this unit, but the ones that don't like it seem pretty passionate in their distaste. I understand I'm getting an entry level unit, but I'm not in need of many features, just would expect to have my Android phone connect to it.

Am I gonna hate this thing or will it do the trick?

hate to say it but I had the same issue. But mine happened when I pulled my unit out. I was able to resolve the issue with washers as well. If you can make holes in the OEM brackets may be your best bet.

The unit does the trick. But if you run into issues with it. It’ll probably make you work for it. I’ve had a few things I’ve had to troubleshoot (some of it my own doing), but fortunately the guys here walked me through everything. And now it’s been great.

It’s good bang for your buck, if you are okay with hassling with it on occasion. If not a brand name radio is your best bet imo.

Edit: just to note I paid roughly $380 for my PX6 and everything on Ali Express on Black Friday. I know the price on these fluctuate on when/where you buy.

Is the hassling just through to UI doing setup stuff or are we talking finagling stuff with the wiring/hardware? I'm pretty good with the former, but if it's the latter, I'm out.

Nah the wiring it straight forward as it comes with the adaptors and I don’t think I’ve seen anything about hardware.

I think for the most part it’s just Software updates/CarPlay issues when you look at people who have moved on from the unit.

its a great unit when you install the Hal9k firmware. Looks clean and performs well. Since you have android it has wired android auto which connects and runs easily. Wireless Apple CarPlay is the only pain with this unit.

anyone have issues with people on the receiving end of phone calls having an echo effect while using the mic that came with the dasaita unit? Its clear and works fine from the truck but I have had several people mention that they are echoing on their end when using the trucks bluetooth. This was not an issue with the stock jbl system and mic, curious if there are some settings I can change or any other troubleshooting tips. Much appreciated....

Yup. But I wanna say I had the same problem with the Pioneer headunit I had previously. I've tried a few small fixes with no luck. I have another microphone I'm going to try and that'll be my final attempt.

Anyone know how to remove the home/back/volume/multitasking keys in the status bar on Android 10? On Android 9 you could remove them, but I can't seem to find how to remove them after the update.

Imo the buttons are redundant since the radio has hardware buttons for these tasksIMG_20200727_185334.jpg
