Check and see if the 3rd gen versions will work on 2nd gen. I have four that are about a year and a half old.

Alright I decided I don’t like the white. Going to paint it black again for now. I *may* cut out the center plate, weld on some tabs, and bolt an aluminum plate there instead to complete the actual look.

I also trimmed my rear wheel wells. I didn’t need to until I redid my rear lower shock mounts/bumps for more uptravel. In hindsight I should have made the rear upper corner less sharp, but oh well.

What was the major life change? Birthday? Anniversary? How come we're being so informal now Dan?

And please tell me you're a Lieutenant!
    :fingerscrossed:

I have to look at my inventory but I definitely have 4 fairly new alloy 2nd gen sensors. I have 4 steel wheel sensors too. And I might have a 5th 2nd gen alloy sensor.

I'll take a look and let you know. You will get the Lair/LEO discount

Is this all pre-dada nervous energy? You're kinda all over the place Brother! Next thing I know you're going to be adding a sunroof or turning Betty into a convertible.

There’s just SOMETHING missing from the bumper and I can’t put my finger on it. Maybe once I put the lights on I’ll be in love with it and I’ll calm down. I’m just not 100% happy with it yet.

I agree. Does it need another vertical angled tube between what's there?

Maybe, I don’t think that’s the ticket. I need to just be patient, add these lights, and go from there.

Yeah, the lights will help. I think. Something. Maybe it's just so minimal and different that it's going to take some time to adjust to it.

Yeah that may be it too. The arms just look so loooonnngggg and all black makes it all blend together and look more ridiculous. That’s why I think the white helped break it up and separate it. Maybe the lights will do that too, who knows. What’s weird is in person it looks perfectly normal. It’s just the pics I take look ridiculous.

Yea, your photos are very dark. Do these look more natural?

I like to see the last one with the plate back on.

I don't know about more natural per say but it is easier to see the bumper. That's the difficult part about a white truck with black armor, is either the armor is a dark shadow, or the truck is over exposed and looks way too bright. It needs fairly specific lighting to look good which is tricky.

Yea, by natural I meant as the eye sees the bumper in person. Digital photography will always be a false representation. I can only adjust the lighting to help see the bumper. Everything else is collateral damage.

You're absolutely right though, you would need some alternative light sources or to make sure your truck is always facing the sun, on a hill, at sundown. LOL

You can also stand closer and make sure your flash is on. And shoot at a more upward angle.

    My $.02

I understand what you’re saying on it needs something. The sharp white upper to black lower.

Gotta break up the huge triangles on the sides out IMO.. rattle can some card board (or not) and lightly tape it in the spot for a visual. or hit up the hobby store for some colored construction paper. I think it might help some.. Then figure out what looks the best.

I used white in the pic (Example) but also think it breaks up the color scheme a little too.

    Just a thought.

Perhaps white tubes with black plate?
