If the ODI’s are too thin, the slim Ergon’s will probably feel similar. I had the GE1 Evo’s in standard and they felt really good. Check out the Deity Supracush’s or Knuckledusters, as well.

My old Saris Cycle On Pro 4 was tricky because the derailleurs were often hitting the wheel arm, more than enough adjustability on this.

Gotcha. What's wrong with the fit of the Skyline? Maybe I can recommend something based on fit issue.

The '17 had some little things that bugged me. The Infotainment was garbage, super glitchy and just gave me headaches. The seat position was low for my height. Wanted the new LED headlights, MTM cameras, CarPlay, leather seats, etc... Plus, I love that blue. Dealer gave me a good deal, made the trade-in easy. Love it so far!

Can anyone help recommend a bike to me in the $1-2000 range?

I am looking for an Enduro bike with 150-160mm front travel, dropper, and 27.5 tires. I went today and rode a couple bikes around, and found my liking to be a medium frame at 5'10.

The used market in CA is shot right now, so new seems like my only option.

Loaded up the truck and took the bike for a ride....first time out in over 8 months, nearly killed me. But it sure was damn relaxing

I ride a Santa Cruz Bronson. It’s 160 front and 150 rear travel. It’s a great bike and will do all you want it too. Usually the new models from SC come out around this time of year, so the 2020s Will be discounted soon. I’m sure others here will have more suggestions.

For a little more coin, the Commencal Clash is a killer bike. Most enduro sleds are rolling on 29ers now... What about building one up from the second hand market? Or getting one outside of CA? Pinkbike's ads have plenty of options.

Ive finally been able to get on some longer and more fun rides. Still recovering, but I’m on the bike.

After dropping a bunch of parts on my current bikes lately and seeing how easy most of it is, i think Ive seen the "frame only" light.

I completely agree. I just finished my first frame up build and now have two more in the pipeline. You can spend as little or as much as you want and get exactly what you want.

that bike looks beautiful! What else do you have planned? I’m considering a short-mid travel 29er to complement my big bike next. Thinking a trail429, Ripley, rascal, or Tallboy.

Thanks! It took me a while to accumulate all of the parts and then a bit of procrastination set in. Once Covid hit, I really had no excuse to not finish it.

I have two steel hardtails in the works. The first will be a 29" BMX style of bike to tool around the neighborhood on. It's more of a budget build that should be fun. The second is a Honzo ST the will be setup singlespeed.

    Noob here needing assistsnce.
I was going over my bike before i was planning to go ride and noticed where the drop out attaches, there was a crack. Possibly due to a drop out bolt falling out. Does the more knowledgeable people know what i can do, is the bike still okay to hit the trails on.
Both are in the pic attached. Thanks for the help. 20200705_184311.jpg

The skylines feel good standing. But on bike there seems to be excess crotch material getting caught on the saddle as I move around. [input joke here] Happens when I mount up sometimes too, and similar scenarios with my Fox rangers.

The Ergon saddle I just moved to may be playing a role in the equation too. It’s fabric is tackier than others I’ve used.

Speaking of which, as much as I prefer not to, I may be putting REIs return policy to use. This shouldn’t be happening with a saddle that’s seen less than 50 miles.

    B40E0022-495F-4C1A-8A92-080E9B47A431.jpg

Funny to hear another person having some gripes about the seat height and electronic gizmos. Can’t say I pay enough attention to either. Other than the upgraded lights, I don’t think there’s much the newer turds have that would make me trade my ‘17. Unless they start offering the 4.0 again, or a less shitty tranny, or fix the rear end whine. Least it looks good.

I have the same issues with my Skylines, my Rangers and basically every short I wear. Happened on the WTB Volt and the new Ergon. I just deal with it, although it is annoying.

That’s not a good sign of that saddle coming apart. I’ll have to keep an eye on my new Ergon. No issues, yet.

I actually notice the same thing on The rangers on occasion. I just pull them up as high as possible and use my hip pack as a belt haha. Tbh I prefer rocking just a bib because of that though. Especially in the summer
