    I wouldn't be surprised if the housing is different because it is a bit longer. Not much, but enough. Perches could be different too..

    Cut off the perches, drill the ends of the cracks, grind the cracks, weld the cracks, put a strap down over the cracks, weld new perches on correcting my pinion angle and pray.

    The truck is basically where I want it to be so I'm not sure a different axle will be worth it. I think the diff and axle should be able to handle 300 ponies.

    Add some heat to the weld area too, if you can. Relieve those weld temperature stresses.

    One would think but my 10-12 psi SC'd 3.4 and 34's have blow up diffs before.

    And I also swapped my FF diamond out for a stock axle, mainly for the parking brake and stock drums.

    My take on a Ute bed is on and done. Not terrible happy with the fenders, but they’ll do for now.

    One last pic of how it turned out, and I’ll leave you alone! Really please with it. But I do want to rework the fenders. And I want to build this out of aluminum this winter. Lose a couple hundred pounds off it. Looking forward to what you do with yours!

    Got the perches and shock mounts cut off. Looked at the cracks again and I'm probably wasting my time on this thing. Here about a 3" crack. I find it interesting it's traveling the direction it is. IMG_20200712_203635.jpg

    When I was researching mine, I found a 4runner with cracking running along the length of the axle like that. Interesting to see that it still could be a problem even without the leaf setup.

    Not exactly sure what it is called, but there is this etching fluid or something, which will highlight the portions of a crack, which don't present themselves without it.

    I plan on bringing some NDT equipment from work home this evening to see if anything else pops up. It uses a magnet that pulls the colored magnetic powder to any discontinuities. Similar to the ultra violet solution I used on the turbine housing a few months ago.
