Do you have a bed mat? Tractor supply has a few things, or I would just get a camping bed mat.

the painful part is when I bought the truck it had the Toyota bed mat. Sold it because I figured I would never use it. If I wanted a soft cargo space I’d just get the 4Runner.

    oops.

yeah I already found a good option from TSC I can cut down to size it’s like 2 bucks. Should be good.

I was going to say I have one from a '94 Dakota 6-1/2 ft bed that you could cut to fit, but driving to almost Vermont from RI probably wouldn't have been worth it.

Any places open for camping now? Everywhere seems booked or doesn’t allow tents.

I know some people who are camping here this weekend. I have no idea what the availability is...but they are open
    https://www.reserveamerica.com/explore/george-washington-campground/RI/253123/overview

It almost seems better of if you could go old school...find someone with a few acres and ask if you can spend the weekend in their woods...pack in, pack out...
Sorry I can't help you with that...I'm on 0.5 acres...and I have to mow the lawn today.

Maine campgrounds are open if you take a test before you come up or something like that.

Macomb State Park is open in NY and allowed tents when I was there the other weekend. It’s a hike though, near Plattsburgh.

Most New England states and New York is allowed with out anything special, Mass is the exception.

However, they are not messing with folks, we just want everyone to take precautions.

As far as I know, none of the cities near me officially had fireworks. The fact that almost everyone seemed to have their own was much better. I had an hour drive home last night, and had a fireworks display the whole time.

Me too we spent the day in Newport and the ride home we saw Bristol's fireworks and everyone elses almost the whole ride home. The best was on top of the Mt Hope bridge. Fireworks over the water in every direction!!!

    Happy fukkin monday y'all.

Beautiful truck. Did they give you a decent deal on it? I'm trying to wait until the fall when they are looking to make way for the '21's but I am sure whatever I want is going to be hard to come by. Especially this year.

    Thanks!

I'm happy with where I ended up. I felt his price was a little higher than it should have been, but he did about $2k more on my trade than I expected so in the end I figure it worked out. I also had $3k off as a private cash offer from Ford, and they're doing 0% right now so I'll save a bunch in interest. I should be able to pay this off in four years, but did a six year term since at 0% who cares.

I thought about waiting until fall, but my private cash offer expires today and there's a good chance I wouldn't get another then. Also, highly optioned Lariat extended cabs are super rare, so they might all be gone by then. In all of New England there were only 5 or so optioned close to what I wanted.

it’s just extended cabs :( I’m considering it. I could get the NA V6 which will do about the same as the Tacoma in terms of weight and mileage, and it will give me a 6.5 ft bed. And no turbos. It’s hard to find any of the NA V6 let alone extended cab etc. 5.0 would be fun but I wouldn’t ever use its capacity. I like the idea of the NA V6 to be fair. Could also be convinced of the i4 Tacoma but the cab space in the full size is enticing with the longer bed.

Yeah, I refuse to buy a crew cab full size. Having a cab that big is pointless to me when I almost never have anyone in the back seat. I also don't want to lose the 6-1/2 ft bed. I really don't understand why they aren't appealing to more people.

This cab is actually easier to load stuff in than Tacoma's double cab was because of the flat floor and lack of a B pillar.

I slept in the 5 ft bed of the Tacoma this past weekend. Do able but tight.

After this road trip, don’t tempt me. I’ve learned I give zero shits about all the amenities. I really like apple/android connectivity for maps but an aftermarket unit can go in. If it has cruise control (and I don’t give a rip about adaptive anymore I drive too slow for that to matter everyone passes me anyway), power windows and locks....we good! So if the truck camping thing works well and I want to do it more, I’ll likely be looking to make a step toward the full size bed and I love the clamshell doors.

They do, but then I don't think I'd be able to fit it in the garage. It might barely make it, but I wouldn't be able to walk around it.
