They can track you down with TPMS, too. Years ago, I saw a video that the wheel/tires were stolen, they tracked them down and got them back from thief.

    Most vehicles have black box.

Which is fine no problem with black box - as long as there's no real time tracking that will cost me $$$.

There's a level in which I'm not comfortable with. Toyota tag teaming with insurance companies to make money in how I drive crosses my line.

FINALLY got my wheels and tires:). Method 17x8.5 0 offset Titanium (supposedly 4WP exclusive) with Toyo Open Country ATII's 265/70r17 C rated. Installed DD SS3 sport SAE fog yellows the other day.

Still awaiting my DD SS3 sport SAE driving ditch lights and my Bilstein 500's w/ Eibach coils to get rid of the lame 2" spacer kit in the front. As soon as that comes..... ALIGNMENT........

I understand that black box doesn't have real time tracking but it's logging your speed, other data whatever your truck is doing. So cops and insurance can pull that off of the black box for the accident report or something.

Not hard at all, just need a drill and measuring tape. Everything else is included, much easier with two people!

I find it hard to believe that any police dept. would waste time and resources tracking down a set of stolen wheels. They would rather be writing traffic tickets, that's where the money is.

Yeah I didn't like seeing her on there either. Just got off the phone with the dealership, he said it is the fuel pump that went bad. As you might know there is an open recall on them but the remedy wont be available till mid to late September from what he says. He is going to have it replaced now and notify me when the recall pumps come in. Just waiting on a gasket but I should have my truck back this time tomorrow. :bananadance:

I'm an excellent driver lol so I usually give no f*cks on what anyone can or can't gleam from said black box.

The owner and cops were at the location where the wheels/tires were found. Then cops knock on the thief's door. The wheels/tires were given back to the owner. I know there are good and bad cops everywhere.

I guess it could be right place right time. Something like that.

FYI - on accessing the black box, law enforcement must have a warrant - not that it would be difficult for them to get one - just an extra step.

Somewhat related: Police can seize your dash cam if they suspect you will destroy it or its contents. They will need a warrant if they want to access the contents, though. Again, probably not difficult. Whatever is on there can be used against you in court.

Immediately after an accident, pull the card and stick it in your pocket.......I keep a spare card in the vehicle anyway, but not for nefarious reasons.
