I bought my 2019 Tacoma at Maita Toyota. While it's within the 2 year "Toyota Care" window, I've been taking it back to Maita even though I have very limited confidence in their honesty.

I'd like to find an Independent shop for maintenance and / or repairs that I choose not to do myself. I'm asking now because I worry it might take me a while to find someone who's honest, skilled, etc.

Do you have any repair shops you'd recommend in the Greater Sacramento area?

P.S. I specifically live in Orangevale and work in Roseville.

Shannon Automotive, Folsom. I had them do a major PM service because I could not find the time to do it myself. Excellent, professional, reasonable. If I still lived up there, I d go back for more serious work. PS they were recommended to me by another TW member who bought my old first gen wheels. They had done all work on his, like timing belt at every 120k for example.

I'd also go to Japan Auto Care in Orangevale again.

Tiny shop, great service. I took it in because I wanted a second opinion on my disc brakes, which had a slight rub I noticed when rotating my tires. He did a full inspection, everything was AOK, said no charge, and gave me a shuttle ride home, during which we discussed auto transmission maintenance for towing. When he dropped me off, I gave him a twenty and told him it was for the gas money. This was the owner.

You're welcome. Just remembered, wife took her new Subi to the Orangevale shop first, and she had a great experience.

Regrading Shannon, they do specialize, and I'd likely take my truck there for any major work, or something unique to my model years. Read their testimonials.

I have taken my last 4 vehicles to Scotty's Automotive in Roseville - super reliable, honest, down to earth people. Will not sell you shit you don't need, and I dont know what it is, but I always end up paying a little bit less than what I'm quoted. I just took my 1st gen there Friday for its 120k service! They're legit!
