Just cutting out more rust. I'll be welding in a patch here. (it's a very long running project)

I’ve got the same project starting next week. Repairing the frame at the same time as well.

Well to add my experience to the conversation that nobody knows who started lol...

I have the Koyo Rad, New HD Fan Clutch, Complete stock fan shroud, and the 180 Toyota T-stat. I just put ~750 miles on this weekend in the mountains & high desert. Saw temps as high as 113 (outside) and pulled hills all the way to 7k+ ft. I had around 300lbs of gear along with myself and my girlfriend.

Temp at cruising speeds lives at 185.4° flat
City / Stop and go is between 185-190°
Highest seen all weekend 6% Grade @6600ft, 4th gear 65+ MPH (Foot to the floor) was 196.8°
Side Note - As a test I left truck @idle for 30+ minutes in 115° ambient temp w/ AC on full blast. Truck was ~188° more or less the whole time.
I spent a good hour on the trail in 2nd gear low range and temps never moved off 185°

I couldn't be happier with the cooling setup on my Tacoma and will likely only switch the T-Stat when I supercharge down the track a bit.

Camping spot for funzies! Watching the full moon rise up there was one the most amazing experiences I've had. Plus no firework noise :)
https://gopro.com/v/dMm05BvVppOqo (Taken while still setting up camp, so it's rough lol)

Hope everyone had a safe (and cool ;)) 4th of July and enjoyed the great independence this country offers :)

    Easy.

Add bumper with winch. Full skids. Rear bumper with swingout with gas/water/CO2 whatever on it plus tire. Bed rack with RTT or a camper or a topper. Sliders. Bigger tires are also quite heavy. Then, pack the truck to live out of for 2 weeks with food, spare parts, tools, camping accessories.

    all that equals 6000lb taco.

What Mine usually weighs for a 2 week trip is just under 6k.

Most trucks that do that kind of stuff are between 5000-5800lbs.

Anyone ever replace the front part of the ebrake cable? Cheap dorman ok or stick with OEM? Mine broke this weekend. Seems like it's not a trip without something breaking anymore.

    Gratuitous pic.

I'm guessing the truck didn't roll off a cliff and end its misery?

It was awfully tempting. Second hinge broke on the GFC literally as I was closing it to leave.

So I said fuck it and pulled all the panels.

Got to camp night one, leveled the truck, pulled the ebrake - snap. Really? :annoyed:

Oh, and the vibe at 75+mph I thought I fixed by swapping in my spare driveshaft and a new carrier bearing is still there.

Other than that, it did great.

My rusty power steering lines finally caught up with me today.

I bought new lines last spring, knowing this would eventually happen. But removing the old ones was not as easy as I had hoped, so I put it off for later. Turns out later is going to be the middle of July in my driveway. :bananadead:

Got my ultrahook on and washed my synthetic winch line while I had it out.

A good thing to always do. Go back and change/check previous work. Also gathering ideas from everyone when I find a ext cab 2.7 2wd or 4wd

Stuff and things that make it better.
My entire ebrake system has given me nothing but issues since day one, slowly been working on a transfer case mounted design, could be an option for you too with your skills.
