    Adulting sucks. Shit day.

In unrelated news, I set out for a 10 mile bicycle ride when I looked at the truck and noticed that BOTH indicator bulbs fell OUT of the harness and into the headlight housing :angrygirl::angrygirl::angrygirl: Gave up on the 10 mile bike ride and got to working on removing the housings and the bulbs. Got everything back together and then, I find out the passenger Diode Dynamics bulb is faulty. :annoyed::annoyed::annoyed: So, I swapped the DD bulb to the driver's side. Issue follows. The good bulb moved from the driver's side to the passenger's side and there was no issue. Faulty bulb confirmed. Emailed Diode Dynamics. For now, incandescent bulbs FTW. Tried and true.

    I need a drink.

    Shit day.

    The end.

Holy fuck a truck update? I must be taking notes from @EatSleepTacos

Nothing special really, but I do have two gripes. Follow along!

First, I have been meaning to order up some additional clamps for the topper as being outdoors more often is going to happen once it isn't as hot as the inside of the devil's anoos outside.

    0ECF0824-BF1E-45A7-8157-C8C22F9656C2.jpg

Second, can anyone recommend different LED DRL/indicator bulbs??

I have Diode Dynamics and when I left the gym today, the driver's side DRL bulb was inside the house (again). I am so sick of their bulbs not fitting and staying in place. I will be emailing the company again to find out why this happened 3 times in the last two weeks. Never seemed to be an issue before. Perhaps the extreme heat? 90* + for almost 10 days now.

    412FEF19-FE30-4598-BAE2-F66C454A085C.jpg

For now, I put the factory, incandescents in. Those are SOLID. They really click into the harness and I feel like I am going to shatter the bulb putting them in before they seat in the harness. I thought about electrical tape to hold the bulbs in, but then the tape could fail and they could pop out again and I would be stuck in the same spot all over again. For $60 a pair, these are for shit if they cannot stay in the harness and fall into the housing.

Can anyone recommend some solid DRL bulbs??

    [RANT]

Lastly, "the situation" is attempting to reach out to me (blocked on EVERYTHING; including email) so she reached out to a close family member. She claims that there is a 2018 W2 at the house still (officially my house now and no longer hers). There is nothing left here of hers. She had her chance in November of 2019 to come to the house and get everything she wanted. Once that was done, legally, everything left in the house was mine. Now, officially and under law and public records, this house is MINE. If you think you're going to come back here and search for a document, YOU GOT ANOTHER THING COMING, LADY! This document can be easily found, accessed and printed online in the amount of time it took for her to write my family member the text message.

What's amazing to me is that (1) you did ALL of this and you are the one to blame and (2) you wronged me in the worst way possible and yet, you have the audacity to reach out to my family members because you need something from me?? Oh hell no. GFY!!

What's weird is that the rear signals never had any issues. So I don't know. I guess we will see what they say

    Pretty good weekend.

Started off a little rough; lifetime friend ditched me Friday after making plans with me earlier in the week. Oh well. Their loss.

    Moving on.

Saturday was a really good day. Planned a trip to an undisclosed location with a certain individual. Not going to say when it is, where it is or for how long in case a "situation" is using this platform to keep tabs on me. Blocked everywhere else. EVERYWHERE.

I'm really looking forward to this trip. Out with previous memories and in with new memories. Could not be more excited.

Saturday night definitely was interesting which led to an interesting Sunday morning/discussion with this individual. Learned quite a bit....a positive experience overall. Definitely eye opening.

Anyways, this morning we had another "Crawlers and coffee" event at the local mall parking lot. Didn't get many pictures except for this beauty from a cars and coffee event in the same parking lot. You can see the rigs from our event in the background:

Installed the additional shell clamps this afternoon which worked GREAT. Had my mom and my brother over at the house for Sunday dinner and took care of a few small things around the house.

    Overall, great weekend. Epic weekend.

If you do want to use them. You’ll need to get the 1157 socket that plugs right in. Since the 3157 bulbs won’t function right.

The company said a minor pin adjustment needs to be made:

I hate that style bulb when it comes to cheaper bulbs. They always fall out. The old 1157 bayonet style bulbs fit by twisting into place. The socket that typically fits exactly like the original is from a 1st gen Scion xB turn signal. No worry about ck wiring or anything

I might have spare 1157 sockets. I’ll check at work

Side note: anyone know why the thumbnail of my build thread on TW's main page changes to the latest photo added at the end of the thread rather than using the top photo from the OP? It was working fine forever....only changed recently.

You don’t want to do the 4157. The dual filament setup won’t work right due to how Toyota sockets are wired. That’s why you use the 1157 socket. They plug right in and fix the wiring issue. And the bayonet style 1157 fits way more securely.

I’ll see if I have any sockets laying around at work. I’m not too far from you so getting them to you wouldn’t be hard.

heres what i do have at home.. i'll have to check if they fit a 2nd gen properly. theyre from aftermarket turn signal housings on my 1st gen
[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] they use this style bulb. much more positive fit. and no wiring weirdness associated with it (why i did the swap in my avalon)
