2006 Prerunner, V6, auto, factory cruise system, all fuses are good, cruise control light does not come on, brake lights work, everything works but the cruise control. No check engine light, nothing weird at all.

Does it work off of the same switch at the brake pedal as the brake lights?

Does the clock spring have the steering column switches running through it, for example the cruise control wiring? I've replaced a lot of clock springs on older Toyotas and those didn't have anything running through them except air bag stuff (and maybe the horn, I don't recall).

Lastly, I don't see an old school can looking thing hooked up to the throttle body like cruise controls use to have, do 2nd gens have a cruise control motor or does the ECU simply tell the throttle body what to do? I didn't remove the plastic engine cover.

    Thank you!

    Runs through the clock spring.
If the light does not turn on and all fuses are good then a good bet it’s the clock spring.
We rarely have issues with the system except for this one piece.

Funny, I diagnosed one last week with the exact same issue and symptoms.
    Clock spring.
