    Pretty much same thing here.
Used raptor liner adhesion promoter and then coated all the insides of my fenders.

Ive done it with spray on raptor liner. The stuff is good. I did it to my new bedsides. Pressure washer was starting to remove it after a year but it was up close spraying to remove mud. It does help agianst spider cracking paint.

    Hey all,

I’ve had a slight expected issue ever since I switched to LT. Basically when driving through canyons & especially with load in the bed like motorcycles, the truck has enough body roll that the VSC system kicks in and tries to “correct” the truck. This seems to only happen around longer corners, as I can take a quick right hand corner fast with a lot more body roll, and the system doesn’t react.

Ie: around a longer corner, the VSC system will clamp on the front outside wheel’s abs. I think the truck believes the back end is kicking out and vehicle is going into a skid. This seems like how the system would try and correct that problem.

In reality, every thing is fine.
Although, when the Vsc / one wheel ABS kicks in, the truck pulls to that side for a second & cuts throttle until I correct it.
In a worst case scenario, this could result in me steering Into traffic head on.

I’ve had the Toyota dealership I used to work at recalibrate the VSC system multiple times. Helped, but the problem hasn’t gone away. Disconnecting a wheel speed sensor shuts the system down, but it also turns off ABS obviously.

I’d like to keep ABS for on road use, but could gladly live without VSC at all times.

    • Can I just pull the yaw/pitch rate sensor from under the driver seat and still have straight line ABS functional?
    • Or maybe Install a switch of some kind for canyon driving? (sometimes unavoidable).
    • Any other fixes for this problem, such as possibly widening the parameters that the VSC system actually decides to actually kick in at?

My truck is a: 2012 2WD TRD Sport Prerunner, for anyone who can suggest wiring / ecu / vehicle specific stuff.

    Thanks boys !

kill the ABS system using a switch for off-road use. Best thing I’ve done to my truck.

the kill switch will allow you to keep the ABS for on-road usage.

If you see what voltage traction control needs to see in order not to think you're sliding and make a power source that constantly gives it what it needs, you'll have ABS but no traction control, but in my 2nd gen the ABS comes on way too early and I'd pull it imo.

Pulling the ABS fuse / relay under the hood should also work, but I don't have a traction control truck to find out.

Oh really. Small world bud. Yeah Corey and I are good friends. He’s letting me use a spot in his shop. I’m doing most of the work but he checks in on me to make sure I’m doing ok. He throws his .02 every now and then.

Pretty sure it's not necessarily the back tires and the yaw of the truck that sets it off in situations like that. More the tires on the inside of the turn (mostly front where the weight is from what i've noticed) when the truck sways and the tire on the inside decompresses causing the abs to read very different wheel speeds. On 33+ tires the outside tire compressing and inside tire decompressing an inch or two each can easily be a 100 rotations per mile difference between the two. Long travel and low tire pressures probably exaggerates this a lot. Not quite sure that's what it is, this is purely anecdotal from playing with tire pressures and i've since made an ABS shutoff switch like others mentioned

my truck tried to kill me like that a bunch of times as well, even before LT (or even MT)
Kill switch is the answer as @desertjunkie760 said. There’s a thread for it in here somewhere, just can’t find it. Maybe @EDDO can point you in the right direction, he helped me with mine

its a game changer and makes it much more fun in the dirt
