Old Man Emu setups on 1st gens

I got mine from a buddy. I think my issue is due to the taco lean spacer. I’ve been driving it like this for 25k no issues lol. But I’m going to fix it for sure.

any idea why it would be like this? The other side is perfectly fine.

That is one fine looking truck. How long have you been running this set up? Did you notice any height difference once your setup settled?

 

This is my 2nd full setup.
Ran the same thing prior to this for about 6 years I guess. The 2nd setup has been on for about 3, I would guess.

Yes, its going to settle after maybe 1000 miles to it's final height. I don't wheel this one like I did the 1st setup, so hopefully it's lasts a little longer.

It will start to rub a bit in reverse at full right turn.

Would 3rd gen 4runner wheels work for fitting that size tire?

 

it’s because you put a spacer in top of the shock, but did not get extended studs, or a top hat with longer studs.

This is why spacer lifts have two sets of studs. One in the shock that bolts to the spacer, and one set in the spacer that bolts to the coil bucket in the frame.

 

Not sure. You'll want the wheels nearly flush with the fender and a little bit of tire poke that wide. Even with a 1050. I got a set of 15x8 stamped steelies for $60/each. They have 0.0 offset / 4.5" backspacing. 1/4" plate spacer to clear the calipers a little more and it's been good.

 

I actually found out its because I'm a dumbass and didn't realize the dude I bought them from already had the coil spacer on the bottom of the coils from OME. So essentially I have 2 spacers right now. So I'm taking one out this weekend.

 

Yeah but the spacer in the bottom does not affect the available threads on the top hat studs.

 

I have a spacer on the same shock on the top hat too. That I don't need.

 

Right. It’s the one on top that is the problem. Should be really simple to remove.

 

Yup. I’m honestly just going to unbolt the shock and pull it out.

 

I just Bought this kit and was wondering how it rides? Truck looks good. I got full OME kit with the 881's and Dakars but with no AAL since I'm empty 90% the time. Depending on how much I achieve in the back, I was told I could pull the Third leaf from the top to drop it a bit and get more comfort.

 

Or run 255/85R16's on those wheels. If you want to bump up to 17" rims, like I did, the 255/75R17's fit great. All I had to do was hammer down the pinch weld.
Same suspension setup (see my signature below for every little detail).

 

Definitely rides better than the worn out stuff it replaced, but I don't have any truck suspension experience to compare it to. It doesn't ride like a car, but it's not harsh.
