Is this what you actually did or just assume? I think there is more to it than just plugging in the data sheet tuning upgraded injectors. Regardless, my definition of “running right” vs “plenty close” is a huge distance to cover for my standards.

 

Well, here are some real world results, injectors went on today and of course I had to fuck with the connectors. And of course the pigtails supplied by FIC were garbage which didn't even fit, and of course my adapters that I bought for it were for previous gen Denso connectors... Of course!

Moving forward... They are in, and hooked up using the original factory pins. Looking back on it, however, if I ever have to pull the blower back off again because I am having issues with the injector plugs keeping the pins in place I will just cut and solder new ones on and move on with life. There was too much work involved attempting to save the OE pins just to run the different connectors on them and it would had been faster spending an hour unwrapping everything and soldering in the new pigtails in and wrapping it all back up.

Part number S-824 Standard brand pigtail connectors work on these Bosch EV14 injectors.





You can't even tell they are in there right? Super stealthy. Truck is running incredibly smooth and on 14.7 target which is intended for it after reflashing the tune to compensate for the larger injectors. I am however running approximately 1.00 richer at WOT seeing 10.5 AFR while running these. Turns out some more adjustments need to be made somewhere to compensate for the larger injectors but only while at WOT. They are 650's. Any ideas where to tweak? If I can do this without the help of Justin that will be a positive step in educating myself on HPTuners in general.

im surprised youre up and going so smooth. even though @JustDSM had data from (forgive me) maybe @TRON things were really weird. took a few trys to get mine right. mainly a reminder specefic conditions are very important. even if theyre similar by location.

 

Interestingly enough, I just did a re-flash based on the version tune file Justin sent me and surprisingly not a whole lot changed from the values I input thanks to @mightytacoman and the values he sent me to get a baseline going. I am looking forward to being back under a managed AFR again once Justin gives the log a once over and updates the fueling numbers as needed. The truck was running incredibly well before the injectors and as smooth as things are now I look forward to being even more smooth than I previously was.

Yeah, the altitude plays a crazy roll in how the engine reacts to everything.

I want to try to learn some of this stuff myself now that I finally learned how the heck to even get into the numbers which I discovered by accident when I was tinkering with stuff. @JustDSM has been incredible with setting us up with proper tunes, I just don't want to bother him every time I set up a new mod or something happens that requires modification of values and parameters. Plus it would be nice to know how to modify something myself if I ever needed to for the self dependency aspect of things. If I wasn't so doggone scared to flash the truck a lot because of the whole potential brick situation I would be doing re-flashes all the time.

My cal had access to changing the injector inverse constant values. And @JustDSM was then able to prove how the fuel flows through the injector as a function of time. Which is more complicated cause just changing the constant value didn’t provide an injector change.

 

I gotta recheck mine to see. I only changed constant values.
