There are various options but to be frank it all depends on your driving and deflating your tires will give a more comfortable ride.

I recommend putting the car seat in the middle of the backseat as she will then be in the exact center of oscillation which will minimize most of the vehicle movement for her.

The kind that make a significant difference in hitting a pothole or rock at speed are pricey.

    In the $3500 range.

Icon is a brand I once owned and it was really nice on rocky service roads where they were excellent at dampening the rumble.

I've not had the need or inclination to invest this money as I don't drive OR at speed, and even when I'm OR now, it is not too bad with stock OR suspension.

Slower, set pressures to 20psi it makes a world of difference.

It takes a lot of money to get rid of the jerks over bumps, but in the end its still a truck.

What trim level is the tacoma?

Just to clarify, I don't mind spending $$$ for something that will make my kids comfortable and also be able to enjoy great camp-spots. But if there is nothing that can be bought to reduce the possibility of whiplash, then I won't be taking her to these locations in the future.

Maybe invest in a neck collar or pillow. You need to keep the head stable on a baby. Whiplash at that age is not going to end well.

Pot holes won’t cause whiplash especially in reverse facing car seats.

I have a ridiculous suspension setup by most standards and nothing beats airing down. Buy a power tank if you don’t want OBA and air down.

I just got back from a camping trip with my 9-month old on a hard rock crawling trail, guess what he did 90% of the time? Slept, yes he slept through that craziness.

Don't take a baby offroad if you have not learned to drive offroad. Mechanics do not compensate for lack of driving ability.

Not offroading, just potholes / rocks / roots on forest service roads.

Maybe wait until they are one? I recall doing research on a bike trailer and most do not recommend kids under one due to the vibrations, I would imagine the same logic follows in this situation.

Renault makes a child seat with "sleep safe". Probably model specific, maybe there is something more universal out there.

I didn't get no whiplash. Probably got sunburned through.

Then every baby is getting car sick because babies love falling asleep in cars.

Puking is a sign of motion sickness

It sounds its probably a good idea to stick it to onroad until shes bigger. Though, I wish they made some active suspension baby seat that self levels. That would be freaken awesome.
