Its all good. This guy is one of those that expects everyone else to follow rules but he shouldn’t have to because he’s not a year round resident. My wife just got voted in to the HOA board and is the chair for the rules enforcement committee. Just looking at his house as it sits right now, he’s got some notices coming his way. His crackhead son’s car is sitting in the grass on the side of the house while he’s serving time for drug charges (violation), campaign sign in his yard (violation), his boat is in the driveway (violation), his kayaks are leaned up against the side of the house (violation), his wife’s car is parked in the street overnight (violation), and he’s currently in the process of repainting his trim without HOA approval. This guy has repeatedly bitched about the HOA rules and the previous board members chose not to enforce them on select homes. Sound familiar? Shit is about to change. We’ve got several people like this that need to get gone.

Hahahahaha! I hate the HOA and the Cynthia joke has been abused in my house. However, as part of a neighborhood revolt against the prior HOA dictatorship, we collectively fired the management company that had been in place and are revamping the hood.

 

We are a 100% self-managed HOA and love it. It not only keeps the costs down, it forces people to have to interact and deal with their neighbors directly instead of hiding behind the management company. I am currently the president but it's an easy gig. The committees do most of the work keeping up appearances, and I make sure all of the paperwork is done and the maintenance contracts are on schedule.

If you can go self-managed, it can do a lot in silencing the complainers (don't like how it's being run? Now's your chance). The only thing to worry about is the power-hungry, and I found the way to get around them is to put them on committees with people they can't bully.

 

The best way is to just not have a HOA in the first place.n

Congrats, you can identify someone by looking at them. Most can’t and most don’t care to. Let’s be honest with our selves here, most of those stupid products have some random dude wearing nonsense patches. It wasn’t a far off guess. Get off the guys nut sack. It’s probably pretty typical for us to only recognize some (if any) of our own branches heroes off sight alone. He happens to be holding a garbage geardo product, whether he’s affiliated or not. It’s more then appropriate to call that out out in this thread.

I fail to see the issue here. 100% he said or did something stupid and now he gets to wash and mop the rain. Notice he’s the only one. Everyone inside are the ones that advised him against what he did. OR, like we used to to, encouraged him to do it knowing full well his dumb ass would do it and what would happen. Maybe his gf needs to put him on tik toc too.

 

Oh yeah he F'd up...thats for sure. For us flightline guys if you messed up continually you couldnt touch the plane but you could vacuum the flightline cracks...

 

Exactly... you can earn your paycheck by knowing and doing your job, OR I can find dumb busy work for you to do.

 

Im sure the other services have their shit jobs for dumbasses...

 

The problem with giving busy work to fuck ups is that the decent workers have to pick up their slack and do the real work. That's also why negative rewards are so common.

 

I have heard the stories of giving someone a water cup and a spoon and making them clean padeyes. Once the cup was full they had to come back to the hangar to dump it and repeat all day. Not allowed anymore.
