but.... if you choose to use an oiled filter go very light. maybe let it stand for a bit before cruising.

I’m with ya there. I’m waiting for a new set of reads before I tackle the hangars and also have a rear disc setup I’ll prob tackle at the same time.

looks like you got the help. @JustDSM and I had some work to get my truck dialed. Running better now. It was 20% to rich. back on Tacoma TRD tube at the moment though and no FPR mod. Outside of thy it’s decent.

last trip over the weekend 11.8 so prob 12 mpg and 8ish aired down on trails. Truck is super loaded when at fill trip detail.

I did have one issue where my A/T temp wanting kicked in. It was a steep hill but nothing that should have caused issues. I’m wondering if all the extra power is making it worK harder to the point of too much. Any thoughts or would the valve body kit help here? I let it rest and didn’t see it the rest of the trip.

I tried the truck without the FPR hooked up. Instantly noticed the neutered, uninspiring throttle out of it. Hooked it back up. All was good again. Despite getting into great AFR territory at 11.5 ish with the FPR mod no longer hooked up there is a notable power loss without it hooked up. It's going to take some effort to dial this thing back up 1.00 AFR under WOT with the FPR mod hooked up with Justin in order to get this thing running like a top again.

I agree, I did notice less throttle response on the switch. Dialed in better but less responsive.

Hey I could be wrong but was someone in this thread looking for higher output alternators at one point? I may have stumbled upon something that may be useful.

Built in the same town I grew up in, that’s how I found them. So on that link there will be a bunch of different options but basically they have 3 power options for our motor. 180 Amp, 250 Amp, and 270 Amp. Not sure what the stock amp rating is but I figured if someone wants to spend big $$ on a badass alternator these seem like the guys.

Baller! I just installed a RedArc BCDC charger. One bad ass machine for charging your battery or batteries as well. May solve some of that for users who do not want to increase alternator.

130 is OE tow package amperage.

Silly X-Runners, 130A alternators are for boys. :p

Would be fun to do wheelies but I hope they have a tire sponsor. I've seen lots of swaps and I still don't get how they fit them into a Miata... At least the old Ford Fiesta had a trunk to put a motor in.

Yes, the visual inspections have gotten worse since they stopped doing sniffer tests. I got failed for no sticker under my hood and had to custom order one and go back 2 weeks later.

Yeah they've gotten pretty bad. That's why you gotta make sure all of your bases are covered prior to going in.

is it a similar manufacturer as stock? or aftermarket? quality and non-china is my first priority.

Gets boring seeing endless 2JZ and LS swaps. Some people need to mix it up and I’m pretty impressed what they’re able to come up with.

Yep that's the one I installed two years ago when I put my new engine in. It's nice. Its one hell of a tight fit!!!2BA413C2-9F29-4601-9B65-F0663CA07B18.jpg

They say they use all made in the USA parts so if I had to guess it is a very high quality piece.

might have been missed but anyone have idea around A/T temps? Had my A/T temp kick in going up a steep incline out on a trip over the weekend. Not sure if its the added S/C power but never had an issue on the A/T temps kicking in. I was having trouble getting my setup to check the temps so not sure the operating during the trip. I was wondering if the valve body would help. It has the added cooler from the off road package, truck is heavy AF did not expect it still to warm up the tranny. I kept it in more 4 LO and let it cool down and never tripped again.
