So I just hit two years old with this cover. Splitting started several months ago. Side blow out has been within last month. Just normal use. Maybe rolled open once every couple weeks if that. Warranty is for 3 years although it says "Manufacture Defects". I say this is a defect since the cover can't take the weather. The last couple hinges continuously bind when unrolling as well. I've emailed them to see where they stand. I wouldn't want another one of these either way. Total pain in the backside if you live in an area that gets cold temperatures. Forget rolling it up on a cold morning. Really forget unrolling it if it happened to be rolled up during a cold night. TOTAL disappointment with this thing. Seemed like a good idea.

I worry about the longevity of my Extang Exceed as well, it looks okay now, but how it will fare in the Texas heat is another story.

I was going to get one of these for my Raptor when I had it, but many of the long term reviewers experienced the same thing as you. They look nice and appear to function fairly well when new, but lack in the longevity department. I ended up going with the the Truxedo Sentry CT which I really liked (for my Raptor). Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear as if Truxedo has the Tacoma application dialed in (in my opinion). Though not a roll up, I really like the LoMax for Tacos.

Roll n lock is two years old, still looks And functions like it’s brand new. I will be getting the retrax? So I can mount the Yakima bed racks though.

I had a Truxedo Sentry on my truck for about a month and noticed it didn't fit right on the back 2 feet of the sidewall of the bed. Water would stand on it after a rain. Looked out one day and saw a robin taking a bath on it so I went out and took it off then threw it in the dumpster. This is a fact!

I will be surprised if they even reply. Least I can do is post it here so they won't have to deal with others complaining about their turd product.

I really want to maximize the bed as I haul a dirtbike with it. I may just get one of the soft roll ups that pop off easily and ditch the security aspect. I could get into this one without a key if I really wanted to anyway.

Just ordered a TruXedo TruXport cover. I like that the rails go on top of the bed rail and it rolls up really small. Couple thousand 5 star reviews and only $280. Probably better than the $800 plus two year old turd I'm about to dumpster.

I’m glad I got a cheap tonneau cover because all I really expect is to keep most water and dirt out and it doesn’t offer any security at all. I avoided tonneau covers that have too much hardware or seems like it’s difficult to replace.28F65D5C-D381-457E-86F7-AEDB92028809.jpg two years and still good.

No response from BakFlip so far. Take your chances with this cover.

I was thinking about switching over to this from mx4 tri-fold. Glad i saw this post. I had my tri-fold for 2 years in colorado with no issue besides some initial cosmetic flaws that was easily fixed with super glue.

Now's my chance to complain. I had issues from the get go with my mx4 and wanted to return, or at least get some support from bakflip. Many inquiries to bakflip customer service and never even got a response.

I had to super glue the seal at the back from the start. You can see in the picture where it is loose again. Thing was great for about a year and then degrades quickly after that. The fact the rails hang inboard of the truck rails makes it flex a ton when trying to close it. Never liked that part about it anyway so kind of glad I have a reason to ditch it. If anyone in the Columbus, Ohio area wants it for free just to have something it is available.

ok here is the update......looks like I am getting a new cover from Bakflip. Who want's a brand new cover with used side rails and hardware for half the cost of a new one? Hopefully, you are in the Ohio area so we don't need to mail it but that can be discussed. Don't have it yet but they indicated it would be replaced under warranty.
