I just put 2 screwdrivers between the diff and cv than twist them even on the oem one with grooves... how would those grooves help are you prying from the frame or something?

Or do you have a tool that grapples onto them that you pull from?

That's a good idea, haven't tried that one. I have a small pry bar that I use and I do a similar thing but with the Duralast you really have to jam it in there between the diff/CV and it ends up putting cut/scratch marks on the diff and mangles the part of the CV surface (not good if you intend on reusing it).

Those grooves on the OEM ones are a perfect spot to put the pry bar on and then just push/leverage against it, pop they come right out. Then put the end of the pry bar on them again and hammer it to get it to go in. Don't have to risk doing any damage to the CV, diff or seals etc.

No i stick maybe 1/4 of an inch if the tip of a flathead than twist i male sure not to touch the part the seals ride on

Also found that the c clips on the end of the cvs are either too large (makes it too hard to insert) or too small (slides in and out without force) so i take them off and bend them to the goldielocks size

    Mine in order:
    • OEM (toyotapartsdeal.com)
    • Amazon
    • Rockauto
    • Name any number of shitty aftermarket toyota vendors that never has anything in stock
    • O'riley for fluids and to dispose of my fluids because it's right down the street
    • Advanced since they have a big ass distribution center with a store attached farther down the street

Napa ones have the grooves and so do the cheap Heri CV axles from Pep Boys.

Duralast vatozone cv's are the only ones I've seen personally without them

Driver's side was done before I bought the truck, passenger side was right after I bought it by me, before I knew better. Lost an OEM CV for that side because I didn't know otherwise.

Only redeeming factor is the lifetime warranty they have.

Just received a set of five Patagonia M/T 285/75r16. These tires seem larger than the same size Nitto Terra Graplers that are on the Hundy. The wheels arrive on Friday.

Oh wow, that tread looks pretty gnarles barkley. Hope they balance well for ya.
Does the place you use for tires use that roadforce balancing machine they people seem to love?

Discount Tire does RF balancing for the products they sell. There is a place in Little Rock that does a good job. I should go there on Saturday. Need to carry all that in the Taco.

    Kubota makes good shiz.
In like 2010 I picked up an MTD log splitter with a Honda motor on it.... I picked it up end of season, like winter time I think, and from Walmart. It was marked down to like 600 bucks. I was shocked and happy :Dand it split even the stringy cottonwood crap logs without issue.
I love chopping and splitting firewood. Even splitting by hand with a quality splitting maul.... I miss it

Well I dunno if you need to, lol
I just assumed that was a complaint on those tires, might not be. And you're having them installed on which wheels? Are these going on your SCS F5s???:drool:
