I've been doing some checking on tires because I want to get rid of my BF Goodrich Rugged Trails. I want to stay with my stock size (265/70/R16) and finally came up with Hankook RF10ATm with the LT and not the P rating. I then started looking for the best price online and found everyone was really high. Discount Tire wanted $804 out the door (OTD)for the LT in my area so I thought I'd go in and see if I could get then down. The first thing they said was that there was no such thing as an Lt rating in that size. When I showed them their own price quote from online he said that he would have to order them and it would be more. I said that's not what the quote said. Then he wanted to rebuild the TPMS and the road hazzard would make it more . I said what if I get the tires myself ( online-Discount Tire Direct $10/ tire cheaper and minus $63 Tax= $103), cut off the Road Hazzard ($78) give me a trade in on my tires (with 10K miles on them) and charge me for mounting and ballancing. Well, right there the mounting and ballanceing went up from $16/ tire to $50/ tire. He discounted down to $800 out the door. I said that I could do better and left. Enter, Ponderosa Tire Pros. Hankook RF10-ATm LT265/70/16-$694 OTD with road hazzard Replacement,TPMS Gaskets and $30/tire trade in) Everyone else around here wanted $800 to $1100. Still a lot of money but........

I asked Louie from TirePros and he said," sure, lets take a look". $30/tire!! Plus, he took the differance off the price of each Hankook so I paid less sales tax. He'll probably sell them for $50/tire.

Go online and email the store regarding your expirence. You'll probably end up getting a call or email from the store manager asking what they tcould have done differently. Next time, start with the store manager, and put it out there that you can get them cheaper. They usually have no problem matching the price. You may have got some kid who doesn't usually sell, and instead of getting somebody who could have helped you properly, he screwed it up your expirience with DTC. My apologies, and hopefully you'll give us (Discount Tire) another chance.
