FJ Wheels on Tacoma

I've found a set of FJ Cruiser wheels on CL. Its a set of 5 for 400. Tires are worn. Are there issues w/ these corroding like the TRD Sport rims? Does anyone have a pic of a DBL Cab LB w/ the 17' FJ wheels? Thanks

 

You're talking about these? If so, you will probably have the same issues, as they are just aluminum with a clear coat.

Yeah those are it, I like the way they look but I dont want to have problems with corrosion on these wheels in the future like I do w/ my TRD sport wheels.


Anyone that has these wheels, have you guys had any corrosion problems?

 

I have them and I have no problems with corrosion.

 

How long have you had them? And how many miles you think are on them?

 

Two years old bought them used not sure on the miles.

 

Can I just put these on or do I need to trim or anything like that?

 

They bolt right on no problems with stock lug nuts or tire pressure sensors.

 

P.S. Trimming depends on size of tires

One more question, if it has the FJ Cruiser factory TPM in the wheels already will I have to take mine out and put them in there or can the us the FJ's w/ my truck?

I recently put a set of the 16" FJ TRD SE Wheels on and I called Toyota and they said that I had to take the original ones out of my stockers and put them in because they have different part #s. I am going to just wait till I have to put on new tires on my FJ wheels and have them taken out and put in then. It would be a waste to dismount both and remount now. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on the sensors.

 

I would ask around $300, they are used rims with pretty much throw away tires. Also the dealership should be able to register a 2nd set of sensors to your truck I believe.

 

As long as they are in good condition, I think 400 for just a set of wheels is a good deal. I got crazy lucky and picked up my 16" FJ's with appox 30% tread left for 450.

 

Thank you guys, I know I can just take my TPM out of my truck and put them in the new wheels so that wont be a problem. As far as price is, I was thinking more like $250. I would be willing to pay more if they were the FJ's TRD wheels instead of the standard 17s.
