Finally got my F5s mounted after I ceramic coated them.... And Discount Tire scratched every single wheel in the same exact spot... Gonna be calling them tomorrow since they are closed now and my wife is the one who picked the truck up. Yeah I know it’s not that noticeable but when you go to the effort to ceramic coat them and protect them it’s annoying af when the shop scratches them...

 

Discount Tire Service Center did the same thing to mine. The manager was not very helpful, so I complained straight to corporate. They just got me 4 brand new ones. They are sending them to a different location for me to get them installed. Hopefully they don’t screw those up too.

 

I think we talked about this awhile back actually... They also charged me for tire disposal yet left the tires on the old wheels. They will be getting a call tomorrow

 

Did they say what they are going to do with the old wheels?

 

The manager said they were gonna take a loss and try to get SCS to maybe buy them back at low cost. He has no clue what he’s talking about most of the time though.

 

Lmfao I’m gonna push to keep both sets I think. This is the second set of wheels they have scratched of mine.

 

I was gonna try and buy one off of them for a spare, but ended up just buying another one from SCS. The whole ordeal has been such a pain in the ass, I don’t even wanna give them another dollar. When he got the replacement wheels in, he called me and told me to bring him the scratched ones, and he’ll give me the new ones. It’s my daily driver work truck, not sure how he was expecting me to get around in the meantime?

 

That’s part of my issue as well and why I had the wife take it and pick it up. Plus their hours with Covid are so short so it makes it harder. Gonna be a fight I'm guessing as I’m guessing they will want to offer to repowdercoat them but that isn’t gonna fly.

 

I stopped going to Discount Tire. They kept cross threading the lug nuts. Then would have to break the stud to get them off.
Plus they don’t fix the studs in house. So they’d send me to another shop to get the stud replaced.

Haven’t had a problem since.

 

Yeah I don’t think I’ll be going back anymore. Would rather pay more and not have issues every time. Last truck they wouldn’t put the tires on because the lug nuts didn’t have enough threads on by hand but the only way to test that would be to have the wheel off... So that made no sense. And then they wouldn’t put the wheels on my car because they are technically a drag radial (DOT approves) and they won’t mount those on a car... It’s always an issue with them.

 

Damn, they look good af tho. I would be upset as well.
