    @Plain Jane Taco , it seems like that red Yaris you used to have and the white one you bought your daughter are the only decent examples I've seen; So many, like this one, seem to have been abused (note the peeling clearcoat and missing wheel cover)...

    Because they're all old these days. The durable nature of them means they outlive the ability to keep them nice looking. You'll find them with 200k, 300k miles on them...but not usually pretty.

    My daughter's car is mechanically solid put cosmetically rough up close.

    And I didn't own my red one long enough for it to get ugly
