Never parked my car in garage before but cleaned it out and decided to start putting the Lexus in there but was concerned about possible mice in there so I set 3 snap traps. 2hours later had first one. Next day had 2 more. Reset traps and nothing since but now a little scared to put the car in there. Going to wait a while and see if I get a few more.

I'm having a similar issue with horse flies. There are a few horse flies living behind my dashboard smh. Most of them are either dead or gone because they've been quiet recently

I have a dealship near me that will put a form of steel mesh where the air intake goes to the air box for the cabin air feed, as well as under the windshield wiper assembly to help keep the
From getting other access to the interior of the truck.
I spray peppermint oil under the hood every other week and keep a product called either cab fresh or fresh cab. Its balsam fir essential oil in a sacral.
I put a fresh one in the glove box every month and it seems to work quite well.
This was all done after 6k in damage on a 2016 Toyota tundra that was a leased vehicle and i had put in for an insurance claim that was thankfully covered.
My wife's 2016 corolla since doing said things has stayed critter free as well as our leased 2019 tundra.
When the tundra lease is up im looking at a tacoma trd pro and plan to do the same.
We don't have a garage and live in a smaller farm community and mice definitely suck.

I had a mouse end up in the back of my truck in my camper where I was living.

I was not very happy with Jerry. Thankfully I caught him very quickly before he destroyed any of the wiring. I just set up three traps with peanut butter as I was living on the road. Worked very quickly, got him an hour after I set up the trap.

I know the feeling of them making a nest...somehow this mouse was with me for a day or two prior to me noticing. It made a full on nest in one of the cabinets that I rarely touch.

Does it really work, and how long is this stuff good for till needing to reapply it? I've tried about everything, seems good old fashion mothballs work the longest.

It seems to. I apply it in the engine compartment...especially the corners, wire harnesses and I give a few squirts from underneath too.

    I reapply every 4 to 6 weeks.

I do other preventive things as well

Sounds about the same as using peppermint treated cotton balls except being easier to reapply.

It does have a peppermint like smell to it.....or something along those lines anyway. Whatever it is doesn't smell bad IMO

I know right? Anyone have any experience with this? I brought my truck home tonight and you can see nearly the whole harness in the engine bay in plain sight. And there is a ton of room in a 4 cyl bay.

I've had 4 mousetraps set up in my garage for a week and not a single bite. I hope to start parking in there once I get it cleaned out. The only problem is the truck will only have inches to spare front to back and I'm worried about running into the house! I have a parking block at least, might need to add the tennis ball on a string.

I have the opposite problem. Too many stray cats and it doesn’t help that my neighbor keeps feeding them. There are visible paw prints on my engine cover and they sleep on my catalytic converter and muffler.

I use the tennis ball thing in mine.
    Works great.

Mice love to hitch hike. I had my truck parked in the garage for a week straight.
The wife went to work in her Jeep.
Next morning 3 in traps on my side.
Keep the garage closed up as much as possible.
Next door neighbor leaves garage doors up all the time. Attached garage.
    Suggested not to do that.
    They didn’t heed my warning.
Now they are closed all the time after a long fight.

    See it all the time.

    Looks easily repairable.

    Good soldering repairs
    New wire loom tubing.
    Never know..
    Then start some preventative action.

But if I, or some shop fixes it won't Toyota not honor the warranty on any other wiring issues? I've never had a new vehicle or a bumper to bumper warranty.

If they trace it back to mice absolutely , but if it’s a failure of a bad connector not related to any animal or anything external like that then they should
On edit. As long is I can’t trace it to a mouse then they should cover it. However if it is a lousy repair then they will deny it
