Idles better. Hard to describe. I’m gonna drive it for a while and do some personal “data log”.

What was it doing? I was just recently farting around with the EGR system myself.

It had a weird idle/skip. Rough idle and felt like it was starving for fuel. New injectors and everything spark related replaced besides coils. Truck under load had roughish skip at stops but driving felt fine. Replaced all new injectors, VSV, plugs, wires, exhaust header(cracked), o2 sensor(code). That’s everything mechanical that’s been touched. I’m starting to think it may be another part of the egr system due to the video I think @Wulf tagged me in. New VSV and the only thing else I can think is what the guy said that the modulator is bad.

Hm. Mine had a bit of a miss at idle too, but that was a burnt valve.

Might also check the vacuum hoses and the ports on the throttle body, mine ended up being clogged, causing the modulator to not modulate.

That’s the other thing I couldn’t remember. So egr piece I saw in video being clogged would need to be cleaned. I wouldn’t doubt I need some head work because of a burnt valve. If need be I would love to have a built head and then SC later.

I think a compression test would probably reveal a valve issue if ya had one. I had my head reworked by a local shop, pretty pleased with the results.

I puffed on the hoses into my throttle body manually and they felt restricted. Air compressor cleared that right up.

So much for that theory. How are the coils? Mine were cracked.

@0xDEADBEEF i will check into the egr bs and see about that tube that’s prolly clogged with carbon and other hoses. I did spray all the hoses with brake clean to test them. Prolly has something to do with the egr tube.

Thanks for everyone’s help and all the info. Y’all came in clutch

Appearance wise they’re fine. Couldn’t find a way to bench test them. If it comes down to it I’ll order new ones. Our wholesaler is good about prices on reboxed OEM parts like denso, intermotor, and aisin
