    Currently I have a 18 TRD Offroad, 2000 Chevy Prizm and 2015 DRZ400SM.

my girlfriend gave me the green light to trade in her 2016 Ford Fusion for something fun if she can drive my truck to work a couple times a week.

which got me thinking, what’s the most impractical fun sports car a 25 year old can buy for less than $20k?

I thought I’d see what you guys drive on the side to scratch the fast and furious itch :)

This should be fun. Anything with HP and torque. More the better.

AWD or RWD? Auto-cross? Muscle car?

The honest but no fun answer? Don’t trade in your GF’s car for a fun ride. At least not until you put a ring on it. Lol

This. Not lecturing but cars can be a huge problem in relationships, something I experienced with an old girlfriend.

my first thought is something nimble like an EVO/WRX/STI

Then considered a Toyota 86 or Fiesta ST

and ultimately went a test drove a Mustang GT PP2 and Camaro SS 1LE and about started crying at how much I was laughing driving something with a V8.

I have no clue what I want so was looking for help haha

I have an FR-S for when I feel like carving corners. You can pick them up used for around 15k. Underpowered, yes, but sticks to the road like a vacuum.

I agree with the gents above though, sound advice.

I did think about that, I think I just got too excited. Likely won’t happen, but would still like to hear what you guys have, have been considering something more fun than the taco since I bought it :anonymous:

I’ve been seriously considering one of those. They’re dirt cheap for what you get, huge aftermarket too.

But y’all are probably right. Darn Tacoma world always talking sense into me!

Lol. No worries. It's fun to talk about. Sounds like you have some good ideas. Maybe buy a fixer upper or maybe buy something ready to drive. Old school or new school.

Shelby gt350, I actually though about a brz from a smiles per dollar and what I could do mod wise with the extra cash.

But the first time I heard this engine start up that was it.

If you want a second fun car, and you have a Taco, and your girl has a car.... don’t trade her car in for a fun car, buy a beater shit box fun car to wrench on get something you like and keep it running. Improve it over time, then move on when you want something else or it no longer works for you.

I do this with my fun vehicles. I churn through bikes and old 80s cars and have an Audi in the garage with parts in the trunk. The wife drives her boring ass Yaris to work every day like the appliance it is and I can do what I want.... with in reason.

I like that idea, my idea of a beater would be a 02-07 WRX. Just wish they were cheaper.

Just make sure it’s a convertible so you can divert any of those aforementioned relationship problems. Cause chicks always dig convertibles right?

I got that from the gf unit. I'm now looking for the eject handle (it was just the last straw for me)
