I've only put about 25 miles on 2.0 Premium stock and it's feeling pretty good. Still some quick shifts into 3rd. We'll see how it develops as I put more miles.

Is there no way fix the acceleration transition into “VTec” territory?
Up to 3500rpm it feels like a anemic donkey struggling for air

Amen to that. Just got done towing my camper for 500 miles and damn it had no guts at all. I know some older tunes weren't so gutless. Heck, I would've liked to have the previous tune as it was with performance and towing mode. Just without the stumbling start. :/
I also have the issue back where it'll downshift to 3rd to gain speed, then upshift to 4th once I get there, then a second or two later the TC unlocks, I lose 200 rpms and the momentum I had, then repeat the process. :(

Did you use ECT for towing? That’s what it’s for. I just got back from a trip through the mountains and it did fine with my 4K lb trailer. Avg 13.7mpg

    I can relate
    I run 255 85 16 toyo mt tires daily
Just recently got some Falken highway tires with some 20 inch wheels and running similar stock size 265 50 20 and the massive power difference and how my truck holds 6th gear like no tomorrow is amazing!

I might flash a stock 04B04 for the first time in 3 years. If that doesn’t work out, which it likely won’t, I’ll go ahead and flash some of the previous files. This final isn’t for me.
I can’t imagine towing anything, I know people will stay stay in the power band, which is fine, but the transition desperately needs improvement.

    I think it’s a 04B04 (2016-2017) thing. I’m running a beta tune and love it (19770).
It seems like the other ECUs (2018-2020) have no complaints.
Just find your favorite beta, and go back.

    Maybe.
I just flashed stock and took it for a spin, pleasantly surprised. I’ll give it a week or two and see how it responds.
Does anyone would like to share their 04B04 19770/19800-91 in p5f format? I have these in pcm format, but since the dongle trade in those have been rendered useless.

For me 1.05 had the best power / freeway driveability, that tip in was just too crazy. I'm back to b04 thx. It's like Tossing and turning in a hotel bed, theres Just something a little bit off that keeps it from being perfect.

I'm actually glad I waited almost 2yrs for 2.0 before flashing any tunes. I just watched everyone and read all the pros and cons of each tune. I had nothing to compare it to except OEM and I really like the big improvements. :hattip:

I just wanted a little more low end grunt, better shifting and a couple more mpg's is a plus so I'm set. Got a modded sports car if I want to zip around. :D

Honestly I don’t remember, I’ve lost track of naming convention for all the pre pre pre pre 2.0 release tunes.

Has anyone done a detailed comparo between the THX & non-THX version of the same tune?

I've read conflicting reports and looking for the truth

Just sent you what I had available. I’m at work. Had these in my emails on my phone. 19770 91 octane and 19800 87 octane. Both for 04B04.
