That’s not half bad! I haven’t weighed mine yet. Biggest decision is tarp or tent. My tent is under 2lbs but not enough room for gear and me. Tarp is lightest but it opens me up to the elements a little more

Go tarp/tipi/bottomless shelter. It really isn't that bad. Just pitch it in your yard a few times before you take it out to use it. I've use mine in -5 degree windy nights and it held up awesome.

Geez 22 lbs is a good number. I would venture to guess I'm around 30-33lbs for a 3 night trip.

Yea I was a guide for years and am pretty comfortable under a tarp. You just have to be super cognizant of the wind lol. Pitched myself a nice cold wind tunnel once and won’t make that mistake again

I made a clone of the zpacks duplex and uses trekking poles. I could had made it a little lighter but picked with a thicker floor

Nice. Golden's are my favorite fish. I'm lucky to live in an area that has long brutal hikes and drive-up 4x4 lakes that hold healthy populations.

I miss fishing rivers for trout! I keep saying I’m going to buy a saltwater fly fishing rig but never do

I’m planning on bringing a rod with me to MT this September when I drive out to elk hunt. Gonna try to snag some lips on the way back.

Caught these salty bastards earlier in the year but the tide flipped on us and just about made it impossible to get out of the oyster beds

Used to live in Sac! Never made it out to the Kern Basin though. Had a buddy once offer to take me to chase Lahontan Cuttys. Never took him up.

Oh if only I knew then what I know now...

    Not me, a buddy lol.

Got a big honey do list I’ve been avoiding so I’ll handle that this weekend. The quest continues!

likely no bowhunting for me this year either. Heading out to Idaho on a cycling/camping trip with some buddies for a week this weekend though.

yeah I shaked down a lot of gear and just glassed with binos on my tripod. No solar panel, no stuff sacs and used the zipper pouches to hold things in my pack. Only kept my sleeping bag in a small dry bag.

Yeah...missing archery season is going to suck, but at least heading to the mountains sounds fun!

I have pretty nice katabatic 4 season quilt. I think rated to 15 degrees. I’ll never have a sleeping bag again. The temperature range of comfortable use is much larger than a bag. Easy to roll over. Add a puffy for cold conditions. Gotta have insulating sleeping pad in cold. I’ve used it on snowshoe trips and late October backpack hunts in the Rockies.

Yup! Their Flex 22 is my main quilt and I can literally use it down to 20 with a puffy and warm pad(s) or up to 50 as a blanket with just underwear.
