    Is powder coat more of a durable finish than if you were to under coat the racks with something like Line-X?

    No idea honestly. TracRac powdercoats from the factory and if it were Line-Xed Im gonna say from observation that nothing would fit back together where it lays on a thicker coat. The T-bolts slide in the channels of the cross bars for the upright installation and theres almost no clearance in there as it is.
