My Wife said that too, "You didn't tell me you were going to lift it!"
Well I said I was going to replace the suspension, so I thought that was implied :notsure:. She drives a 6 speed Wrangler so it's not like she isn't familiar with the process.
I too think it looks better tall.

That lift def looks high! Do you mind telling us why you went with the Ironman 4x4? The price on it is great. What are your thoughts on it?

i'll be watching for the ride report after you've had it a few weeks. Seems lot a lot of bang for the buck.

Oh yes, let me just *clears throat*

So the price did suck me in, got me onto their website. After punching in my truck info and looking over their products I popped a few more tabs and began researching.
While I had looked into OME, Dobinsons (My second chioce), Toytec and lots of other options I liked that the Ironman was a full kit with complete leaf springs, not AALs. Optional front strut assembly is nice too. (I know lots of places do that) My access to shop tools is limited so an easier install piqued my interest.

They are not as big in the US or Canada from what I gathered, most of the resources I found were from Australia, South Africa and Eastern Europe. Ironman4x4america has a bit on their youtube channel but mostly just installs and stock overview videos.
I did contact them through email with lots of questions and they actually called me to answer them, from Australia. Good sign so far. They know their springs, and their systems well. Customer service has been top notch. I like the brand, they have a good background and by no means has anything I received felt or looked cheap. I do not care for the white and green colour scheme but that's low on the decision making scale.

Maybe they suckered me into it with all the sweet talk, but I have been happy with it so far. It is taller than I expected but can I actually complain about that?

As to how it performs. First off let me say that I came from a Mustang which I bought with significant suspension upgrades already installed, I am accustomed to that ride so take my assessment with a grain of salt.

At first it was uncomfortably bouncy, there is still a decent jar going over bumps at most speeds. I expect a break in period as with most other things will help with that. The bounciness seems like it was due to my older dry rotting leaky tires (go figure). I have replaced them and the ride is much better. Still bouncy but I have not done a chalk test yet for the proper pressure. No creaks or groans from the poly bushes, I did have 4 leftover bushes and I could not figure out what their application was supposed to be.

If I had someone else who is used to how these trucks ride when lifted ride in it maybe they could tell me if it's normal.
I will keep track of how it goes as I use it more and post it up on my build if y'all want to check in from time to time.

    EDIT:
After some discussion with folks more versed than I we have accounted for at least one of my mistakes. Simple enough and completely logical, it's just one of those things I overlooked. It happens.

Final cost for just the Ironman kit of for everything I did at the same time?

The kit was right at 1,518.00$. I did the install myself but I had to buy tools along the way, so add 500$ maybe?

Thank you. I will absolutely follow your build thread. You're probably one of the first of us to get this setup so I'd be a ton of us would like to know more about your impressions. The price point is fantastic on it. I agree about the green and white. I'd get the higher end kit just to not have the color, ha. Take care!

Not a Tacoma, but I started this 1st gen 4Runner project last month. Pulled it out of the desert, and getting her back on the road.

I did consider getting the foam cell kit but I had loads of other maintenance bits to attend to so saving 500$ with the nitro gas made it easier to give my Wife the total. For my uses I don't see there being a huge performance difference. I could just hit the entire wheel well with a rattle can, something flexible enough to stay on the springs.

I sprayed under there for 10 min. You can never get it all. By now, its hard as concrete and require a hammer to get if off.

You've got to love the south! I lived in up state SC, wore that mud like a paint job. Stained all the black bits on the Trailblazer I had.

Yep, I've even ran a sprinkler under there but it's just impossible to get it all. Anything rubber especially, it's all orange
