Whats crazy is how much cheaper the Sequoia is over the tundra. Its the same thing without a bed. And its coil sprung so its more comfy. They are almost identical from the rear doors forward. And you can get a 2012 4x4 platinum with 85k miles for $18-22k. Show me where you can get a tundra for that.

A legitimate concern. The only thing that took a crap after this trip was my starter due to water intrusion and corrosion. Took it apart and wire wheeled the contacts and it was good to go. The 3ft mud hole I accidentally went through during that trip certainly didn’t help either I wouldn’t imagine

The Sequoia is a very nice vehicle. My parents owned one with the i-force v8 in it, and let me tell you, it was a torque monster! They have since moved on to finer vehicles, Lexus.

They've got to eventually release the next gen 4 runner.

I'm really curious on what they do and when they'll do it since this one has been out forever.

yeah didn't this generation start like 2009-2010 sometime? granted, I believe they've made a lot of cosmetic changes to it over the whole timeframe sort of like the Gen 2.5 Tacoma.

if it ain't broke...don't fix it lol. the 4runner is just too good. I'd hate to see them ruin it like they did going to the 3rd gen Taco :boink:

Ooof sounds like a headache. My biggest issue with water crossings/mud or going fast through mud puddles have been my idler pulleys. I replaced the same idler pulley 3 times in the span of 6 months... super annoying to do with the extra belt that i have to remove before im able to remove the serpentine belt

    lol, anyways.

I'm not a fan of the interior of the 4runner is my biggest complaint, and though it's minuscule it should be able to get better MPG than say V8 offerings from GM and Ford.
Now someone will say those two companies are crap, but my point still remains, a V8 bigger Tahoe and Suburban should not get same or better MPG than a V6 4runner.

I'll take low mpg for high reliability, Alex.

What is Toyota 4Runner? Ding ding ding!

i "think" meaning pure speculation without looking into the details that percentage of sales vs issues is probably similar.

Which means as a total number issues are probably higher on the domestic brands, but percentage wise it's probably somewhat equal.
All vehicles will have recalls and such through their lifespan.
