Hmmm. Are you just going to be mowing the lawn? Or do you think might be doing other things with it? I don't know much about zero-turns, but I don't think I'd get one if you're planning on doing other yard chores with it.

My dad has a zero turn, hauls the yard cart with yard scraps, limbs and cut small logs.

I haven't towed anything yet, I just use my 6'4"x10(x2' side) utility trailer for moving firewood, lumber, mulch/dirt/rock.

 

Just out of pure curiosity, can you substantiate your claim on the quality of JD?

 

Decided to try out my ARB Ez Deflator and I’m glad I did because on each wheel / attempt it was reading a fairly consistent 15 PSI below reality.

 

Ouch, I'm used to one or even 5 psi difference...15 is absurd.

 

Yeah it’s not great. I reseated it several times on multiple tires. Ordered a Boulder Tools one that will hopefully be closer, otherwise I’ll just keep the TPM screen up the whole time and run back and forth.

 

Man, that's strange. My ARB deflator has always been within 1-2 psi. Maybe you got a defective one?

 

Quite possibly! Did a scan of Amazon reviews and a couple mention the gauge being bad, with one having it off by the same amount.

 

dont get my intentions wrong here fellas. I dont see the airing down gauge to matter so much (as long as you air down to the same point on the gauge). Filling up I absolutely think it matters.


But if you are airing down to 15 psi, and the tires arent grippy enough, you would air down more correct? And you can visually tell if you are going way to low. I wouldnt put enough stock into it to purchase another one.

 

You could also just mark the gauge with tape to the specific locations of your psi needs, and that will be an easy way to remember. There are totally things Im about spending money on, and being particular. 3-5 psi being off isnt a YUGE deal

 

Well this works and is reasonably accurate (within a PSI or so per the TPM).

 

It could also be your TPMS being off. Did you check it manually with a gauge?

 

Yup. Stick gauge is within 1-2 of the TPM, as is the gauge on the VIAIR.

 

Shitty brand more than shitty quality... They sued to prevent people from fixing their own equipment by claiming copyright on the computer code so that farmers who own these extremely expensive pieces of equipment must go to a JD service center to have repairs done. I'm not sure where it all played out in the end but fuck any company that's that anti-consumer.

 

Huge, huge fan of not supporting companies that don't let consumers/individual owners repair/maintain the equipment/goods.

 

Ive heard of this. Which is why you will see industrial farms running JD, and small farms running New Holland. Although NH makes up for the maintenance cost in initial cost iirc

 

John Deere. I've had mine for 20+ years without any problems...and I've only ever changed the oil in it twice

 

Just got my coilovers back from accutune. The drivers side has 1" more preload then the passenger. I know i'm fat but damn.
