Back in March my pack lost it's beautiful leader Sadi after 14 years. It's been hard. But this past week joy came back into our lives with the addition of sweet little guy Charlie. Charlie is a 9 week old Beagle who is a little wise-ass firecracker. I haven't laughed so much in years. He has filled my heart with joy.

bought the most annoying toy for my dog. Thankfully he’s chewing on the feet and not the squeaker.

Smokey decided that he wanted to add a distressed look to the door frame this evening.
I’m not sure if people in the neighborhood were shooting fireworks still while we were gone (I didn’t hear any on the camera) or if he just didn’t like nobody being home when my sister is usually home.

Just suck it up. Lonely puppies do what they do but when they learn their love will more than make up for it. One day my wife had to work during the day and I got stuck at work and made it home later than expected. I think Baloo was about 5 months old when I came home to this.

I didn't even scold him. I just cleaned up the mess and patched the wall. He never did it again.

Oh Smokey has already learned his love, he’s 2 1/2 and and he hasn’t been much of a chewer since he hit 18 months.
He’s been fine being left in the yard with access to the back porch with Athena for 12+ hours, this time they were left out for about 5 hours.
This was this morning, I usually wake up to him snuggling.

    Rotfl!
Not at the damage, just, I can relate.
Cody destroyed my whole world until he grew out of it.
Was something different every day when I got home from work.

Just got cody this new toy.
Modified it with longer tuggy rope.
I checked it for a squeaker when I got it and didnt find one.....good.
Unfortunately, it was in the tail.

First thing I remove from EVERY toy.
All my dogs usually go right for it.
He found and surgically removed it in like 5 seconds, I was like wtf give that to me!

Pups are not allowed to eat plastic.
Yank the squeaker if it has it and throw it away or use it for play but never never let pup chew on it.

I got rid of the toy because he didn't seem to enjoy it, neither did anyone else haha. My dog would rather nip at my legs than chew on a toy o_O. I'm sending the puppy away for 1-2 weeks for training (behavior, obedience, general training like boundaries, leash training, off leash training, etc...). When the dog comes back, the trainer will come over either everyday or every other day for 2-3 weeks to teach us how to be consistent with training on our own so it won't regress on him . The dog is nearly 6 months old and has absolutely no training in anyway. I agree with you, removing squeakers is a great idea.

She wakes me up at 6:00 on my days off but she sleeps while I’m at work.

Always good when they sleep while we're gone! How do you like that Wyze cam? I've been thinking about a cam system, I set up a game cam when we leave home for a few days just to see who comes and goes. It surprised me how many random people come up my driveway during the day, especially since our driveway is kindof hidden.

Obligatory dog pic, this is Moana (like the Disney movie), we call her Mo, or Momo, but oftentimes it's "stupid," "dumbass," etc... though she's very, very smart. She outsmarts me and I'm a sore sport about it haha. She is just under a year and a half, and both my wife and I would be lost without her. She brings us. so. much. joy.

I like them a lot, I have 2 outside, one on the back door looking at the back porch, and one on the wall in the dining room, I have SD cards in them to compliment the free motion capture recording from Wyze.
I also have 2 bulbs, an outlet, a motion sensor, front door lock, and contact sensors from Wyze. They’ve all been reliable and other than a somewhat slow reboot time if the power goes out I have no complaints.
I also have my Wyze devices connected to Alexa so I can pull up the camera feeds on my TV or Alexa Show, I can control the door lock, bulbs, and outlet as well as check the sensors by talking to Alexa.
I use my outlet plug as a remote switch for my box fan, every weeknight at 22:00 it turns on and in the morning when I want to get up I just tell Alexa to turn off the fan.

I’m not sold completely on the smart home stuff from a data security side but I probably never will be, I use it to supplement the monitored alarm system that we have.

Awesome, thanks for all the info. I've been reluctant to get a wireless setup because of security issues. (hence my usage of a game cam haha). My parents' and brother have Blink systems which seem much the same as your Wyze. It always creeped me out that when you call customer service that they can just log into your camera and see what you see. It's a bit "big brother" feeling, but then again, who really wants to watch me play with my dog, drive my tractor or mower around, etc...

Thanks again for the detailed response, I need to get one of these systems sooner or later.

Thought I'd give the dogs a pool for some ice fun. Ordered last week and it arrived Monday. Today I was able to go get ice and put it out for them. Thought they might go crazy in excitement but nooooo. Its just 128lbs of treats to eat(I kinda expected that, they love eating ice).

They may figure out the joy of the cold ice in the Texas heat. They played more outside than they normally would in this heat after setting it up.
