sas question

    i got an 86 4x4 with ifs and just bought a complete 83 4x4. im wondering if i can just swap everything and be good to go or will i need additional parts to make this happen. any input will be appreciated and thanks

    If you have to ask us that question, then you're definately not ready for a SAS.

    There's a whole hell of a lot more to it than just swapping things over.

    i agree with research and i am. im not "ready" for it no but im ready to learn and see if im capable of doin it.

    Do you have a garage and plenty of tools? Including cutting tools/grinders and most likely a welder?

    Well for starters none of the mounts will be on the newer truck for the suspension and whatnot. Are you planning on keeping it stock height?

    I think what he wants to do is cut all the IFS stuff off the 86, cut all the SFA stuff off the 83, and put the 83s stuff on the 86.

    OME 886 Coils, OME Shocks, OME Dakars, Snug Top, De-Badged, ARB Bullbar, XRC8 Winch
    It won't be too hard to do especially with a donor. You'll need to get a SAS kit that comes with a spring hanger for the front and shackles etc... they are relatively inexpensive.

    You are also definitely going to want to put crossover steering on.
