Surprisingly never done that at aoaa or rausch. Once at sleepy creek lake and twice at windrock in TN

Sleepy creek will eat your whole truck. I got a dent in my door from a submerged tree, and then I dented my front quarter panel because it was the choice between a tree and off the side of the big ass hill. I chose the tree. I went up there with no armor. I wouldn't recommend that to anyone

You talking about your spare? You consider the Y strap and adding a d ring like Randy did recently...was considering that, but I've just got it strap canted across the back. I haven't taken it on trails to test it, as those y straps are quite thicker than my cam or rachet straps.

I'm starting to get wildly OCD with bed organization (have the OEM tonneau) so the first thing I did was grab a big plano box for my recovery stuff and a smaller bag for my detailing stuff. Need another box for general tools.

Once I put the softopper back on, I moved the spare up to the front wall. Since no one can see the cool spare anyways, may as well get more bed space.

I am not ocd at all. Its mostly about simplicity, and getting to things as fast as possible.

I agree. That’s why I have my most commonly used recovery gear in one container, ready to grab. Finding my gear is one less thing to worry about because sometimes recoveries are stressful.

    1. I feel partly responsible.
    2. My lifted, armored tacoma on 35s hasnt gotten any damage there.

I threw mine at an angle in the corner and wheel well, for my 6 ton jack wedged in the opposite corner with my gear box snugged up to the jack and spare...leaves me more rear window visibility, albeit loss of some bed space.

Amazing how well a vehicle rides when the shackles are on correctly.
