What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Both seats are in and oh so much more comfortable.
Wired up the power to the drivers seat and adjusted it.
I still need to figure out where to mount the heater switches and wire them in.

I’ve owned a few Subaru’s and never thought their seats were very comfortable! What year forester? I might have to find me a set

 

yea the 650's made a big difference for me, especially in taking corners and controlling roll.
700's work well for some people here, but I'd also be hesitant with all the folks cracking shock towers, LCA's, etc. Albeit that's prob largely due to going fast and having a heavy rig, but I think the 700's definitely play a role regardless.

 

I put the switches through the plastic on the side/front of the seats. After having them for a couple of winters, I would not recommend that location. Best would be to get them somewhere that you can see the lights easily. Otherwise, they sometimes get left on. I plan to move mine to the area just in front of the shifter.

 

Got my front windows tinted with 25%. It made a much bigger difference than I was expecting so now I might go back and get my windshield done with 50%.

Installed 6" KC HIDs
Installed Yakima Bars
Replaced broken tailgate handle. Had to drill out the old bolts and replace with new.

Yooo what’s that roof console all about? And how much work did it take?

It is an Outback roof console for a Hilux that I mounted my HAM radio in.
It mounted pretty easy. I modified the mounts to move it forward a couple of inches and mounted a Gentex 177 mirror to the windshield.

 

What model & year they come out of? Are there a lot of modifications needed to the tracks?

 

They came out of a 2008 Subaru Forester XT.
I cut the feet off of the Forester seat tracks and then cut the feet off a set of junk yard Tacoma tracks.
Then I measured and welded the Tacoma feet to the Forester tracks.
The two seat tracks are the same width apart, which made it pretty easy to line up.

Never got around to wiring up the seat heaters before I sold the seats. But I had the 2005 Forester XT factory seat heater switches and they fit perfectly in the clock blank plate.

 

I've been looking around at heated seat options for my truck, unfortunately I don't have time to hit up junk yards in the area, what's the second best place to source something like this?
