What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I came from a 2010 lancer so when I test drove my 14 taco it was a significant difference In throw length. I had short shifter installed by dealer it was better, it’s not like sports car short but I found it to be noticeably more comfortable

 

I ended up moving my backup camera to the tailgate after installing some of these. It was too bright for my tag located camera. No big deal as I wanted to move it anyway but very inconvenient. Maybe a resistor would dim it?

 

Had a break in the rain so I just went out to check. Significantly brighter (white light) than OEM. I didn't notice a difference with my OEM backup cam (on tailgate latch handle) with lights off versus on. Those red marker strips are sweet though!

 

So I just received my Energy Suspension bushing kit for body mounts and radiator. Seem to recall people saying install them upside down. So does that mean fat side up? Does this provide a slight body lift or just better feel, or...? I actually have been looking for a .5" body lift but doesn't seem to be a thing for Tacos.

 

Just wondering why I spend time & money on nice All Pro rear suspension, and now I can barely haul the bikes without riding on the bumpstops... Maybe time for Deavers?

I tried my best to get all the mud off thankfully it was just a very thin layer from the alternator up . EveryThing under that was big chunks I ran it tru the drive tru car wash twice to get the under cargo I also removed the cat back n it was clean no mud got in .

 

Maybe on the paperwork? Might say on the sidewall too. I was just curious, the Standard Load is the lighter of the two options I saw.

 

Time for Daystars and some Firestone or Torque bags.

 

You can see where the bolts are. Hard as crap to get to. Bought a set of nubby wrenches just to be able to deal with it. If I cut some access holes (red circles) I could at least see what I’m doing.

Also, not on my Tacoma but on the FJ Cruiser I installed an Ironman4x4 Foam Cell Pro suspension. Loving the ride so far. The FJ doesn’t bounce and jounce around like a golf cart anymore.

 

Debadged the tailgate and added the red TRD badge...just to keep things interesting.

 

Lucky man, I’ve waited a month on Friday. Still hasn’t shipped but they’re in stock.

 

Yeah, they were supposed to be here Monday, but UPS screwed up. Hopefully yours will ship soon.

 

Installed some new alpine speakers. Holy shit they're loud. Its the first time I havent been able to hear my 4 hella supertones when I honk. Very good quality at lower volumes but it shines at high volume. Cant wait to add my subwoofer!
I upgraded from jbl club speakers.

About 2 months late, been lurking on the forum the whole time scouring for all the best mods! Proud new Tacoma owner, have done a bunch of mods but almost entirely asthetic, hoping to grab a new leaf pack and rear shocks this fall and then move the front to coilovers in the spring, let me know what you guys think and any suggestions or questions you have!

Me too! The previous owner put them on there and I kept them, hard to tell from the pictures but I painted the surrounds of them white over the original silver to match the truck better, think it looks good!
