Tire studs

    I could easily call a tire place but they are closed right now.

    When you put them in your tire can you take them back out for the summer

    And put them back in and take them out and put them back in

    No, you can only stud a tire once. You may physically be able to do it but it's not a good idea. Most places will only stud a brand new tire and refuse to stud a used tire.

    I bought my studded winter tires for under $400 shipped from tire rack.
    The studding was $15 a tire extra.

    You can have them studded if it's a new tire. No one will stud used tires. You can pull the studs out but you won't be able to find anyone to put them back in if you want to later.

    If you're looking for studded tires I recommend Nokian tires. They use diamond shaped studs as opposed to round ones. They have more bite in the ice and last longer (from my experience).

    If you can find these in the size you need I would go with them. They are an amazing snow tire.
