That looks like a front-mounted, crankshaft-driven blower. I've never seen that before, pretty cool.

The crank mounted Super chargers were found on some early really big cars like the Stuts bear cat.
Most were in large expensive cars for rich people.
The art of moving the super charger to the top of the engine began when the big trucks were gas powered
before Diesel engines took over. It gave them the power they needed to climb steep grades.
The GM 4-71 and 6-71 blowers were common in the large gas powered trucks.

That’s a nice car but it’s not one of the 6 original Daytona coupes. Lotsa clones out there.

Pleasantly surprised when, a couple years ago, my son showed me a Muscle Car he'd like to own ... '73 Firebird Formula 400.

Bought one in high school in '84 ... two years restoration ... regret ever selling it.

yeah, I have been really impressed with some of the electric swapped classic builds lately. I’m not sure I would ever get on board with an electric 911 or muscle car, but a big 60s caddy would be cool. Just floating silent down the street in a land yacht.... might be tempted

Same here, impressed by the work but I don't know if I could ever own one. It takes away from the fun of owning a classic and I love the sound of an engine. Even when I had a diesel, I missed the revs from a gasoline engine.

That’s the thing, I think in some cars it might make them better. Like you get a four door mopar that came with a six, and an auto anyway. Now it’s faster, and more dramatic in that power and aloof way that they were going for design wise with the slab sides and big dramatic creases, but you can pull it off because you bolt away or glide away instead of “putt putt putt” or hit the 4500 redline of the engine. I’m not saying replace a hemi or a 454.... but maybe your slant 6 could go.

Those older 50's cars are very heavy and everybody drove big cars in that time frame.
That is a tasteful Restomod, Even with an electric power train. They kept the car mostly
original even the patina was keep as is. Very clean car. Makes listening to the stereo
a joy without background noise. Would it be a boring ride ? Probably.

Watch Mike Brewer's World of Cars episode about the shop in CA that swaps Tesla drive units from wrecks into classics and you will change your mind. S1E6: EV The Silent Killer

It is hot rodding at it's purest. Take something used and put it into something used to yield something faster. They have a swap cradle for Porsche's that goes in with 4 bolts, and are working on LS swap motor mounts. Like it or not, it's coming. Tesla drive units are the new small block Chevy.

That's Dr. Simeone's car, in his museum in Philly. I have videos around here somewhere of it trundling around the parking lot behind the museum. It's so cool to see it with all of its 'vintage patina.' Really makes you appreciate what it must have been like to strap yourself in and rocket down the Mulsanne.

If you're ever in the Philadelphia area that museum is really great, especially for folks who love the 60's sports car racing scene. The museum either just reopened or is going to do so soon.

I grew up in a Pontiac family, and have always loved them. Dad traded his 65 GTO about a month before my older brother got his learners permit, and we only had LaMans sedans after that, but that didn't matter. I grew up lusting after Firebirds and GTOs.
